Hi, my lovely DPPers! I don't know about you but I'm still recovering from the festivities of Oscar Week, so I'mma gonna ease us back into DPPland with a little bit of Monday Morning Pretty. (There will be thinky thoughts and tougher challenges later in the week, promise!) But for now, here's a tinyspam of pilots in the position they seem to love best. (I heard that! Get your minds out of the gutter! ;)) I don't know what it is, but I love when they stand around with their hands on their hips for some reason. Maybe I am hoping they'll bust into the Time Warp dance, I don't know. But what are some of your favorite stances, gestures, movements from pilots? I've also noticed that Lee rubs his hand over his mouth a lot and Kara pinches the bridge of her nose when she's stressed/thinking.  And obviously we all know they love to have lingering handshakes and hugs (where Kara sighs a lot). Hee. What else have you got?

All of this hands on hips business is just making me giggle. They're so stern and serious and out of context it just cracks me up. The two of them, mommy and daddy pilot getting the kids to behave. I have to run off to work but I wouldn't be disappointed if somebody posted that cap of them discussing Kat's stim use in Final Cut while the cameras roll. I know there's some hand on hip action there! Ha! :)

I don't have a handy-dandy supply of caps (boo!) but I think my favorite pose is the Kara-getting-in-Lee's-face pose.

Whether it is seductive (quoting Kataris) or aggressive (their clash over her failing the nuggets in 'Act of Contrition') or just tender (the puppy dog eyes she gives him as he's packing up his stuff to move to Pegasus.)

OK, I think my favorite photos are always when PILOTS are up in each other's faces (no personal bubbles for them!) and Lee is usually saying something serious and is often even angry with Kara but actually looks like he wants to kiss her. I think it's because Lee's eyes always seem to be focused on Kara's lips:










ETA: Tara, congrats on your multiple Oscar victories! You're like the "Lord of the Rings" of BSG fandom :D (Though Best Costume surely must go to the tiny towel, right?)

Hee! It's funny you mention the hands-on-hips pose; my husband refers to it as their "gunslinger" pose, and he particularly loves the way it plays out in the Resurrection Ship episodes. Lee and Kara both use it when they feel like they're being pushed into a corner:





But when it's time for Kara to actually *be* a gunslinger, she drops the pose:



Interesting.

Also, we've all noted with approval Lee's tendency to lift his hands to Kara's hair when he kisses her. And the reason we see so much of his lovely jaw is that he automatically tilts his head to the right every single time :) Did you know that people with strong hand-eye coordination tend to favor their dominant side, be it right or left, not just with their hand but with their eye and foot as well? Their natural instincts are all aligned to push them to react and move one way instead of the other. I think Lee is definitely displaying some very nice natural coordination here :)

LOL! And now I want goofy RPF where Katee and Jamie have a conversation about who's going to go right and who's going to go left in all their kissing scenes. FANFIC GODS, PLZ TO BE MAKING THIS HAPPEN! KTHXBAI!

Gunslinger! Love it. Katee is also positioned with her hands on her gunbelt/waist in her promo shots of almost every year too! Sometimes Lee is too.

Katee and Jamie are wonderful at expressing so much with just a look. In this show where meaningful words were at a premium, they had to convey alot with just body language. They had to express anger, jealousy, love, hate, etc. all with a look and w/o the words. This makes this topic great. :)

One of my favorite wordless moments between them, maybe my very favorite, is this at the end of UBEX:



Gah! I have gushed over this before, but the intensity with which he fumbles for her head in those clumsy gloves, the way they just have to look each other in the eye because it's been so long since they really SAW each other that there's all this desperation and urgency and longing and GUH! Kills me dead.

Watching this gif reminds me of another gesture they do that I love: Forehead brushing/tilting together. Gorgeous.

Great choice Tara. I actually love that every time they get in each others' face, even if it's from anger, etc., they "almost" bump foreheads. It's like they can't help but smash into each other, if that makes any sense. The chemistry between Jamie & Katee is off the charts and they do such a fantastic job playing off of that without saying a single word.

Great topic btw! Wish I was better versed in putting up caps, etc. I just have to sit back and enjoy all the things you guys post!
