So, it turns out that The Powers That Be lost an arm-wrestling contest to the Shipper Nation, and Kara and Lee are going on their very first date!

As you can see, they're pretty excited. And they should be! Because YOU get to plan this event! That's right. This is your show! You can put them wherever you like-- they can be in the BSG 'verse, our universe, heck, you can put them in Casablanca and give Lee an awesome hat. THE SKY IS THE LIMIT, FOLKS.

So... Where are they going? How did they get there? Where are they staying? What are they wearing? Did they go to a movie? Did they go the firing range? Did they go to a fancy restaurant? Did they eat cheap fast food in the park? Did they cook for each other? Was there even any time for dinner? ;)

It's so ridiculously You've Got Mail that Lee almost can't believe it. Not that he'd admit that he watched that movie. He had written a serious, thoughtful post about the prevalence of video games and the popularity of handheld systems and how ubiquitous casual gaming had become since everybody started playing BrickBreaker on their Blackberries (his thumbs still tingled when he thought of that high score), and Kara had replied with something full of capslock that boiled down to "STFU NOOB" (or so his friends had told him), and he'd emailed her to ask what she meant, and she'd told him he was an idiot, and then he'd found a picture of her, and somehow, in the next email, he'd managed to ask her for a drink, and she'd said yes. Okay, so it's not quite a movie - he's in no danger of shutting down her livelihood, which he can't even understand - but still, it feels like it's scripted. So now he's waiting at the bar with his palms all sweaty, wondering if this is a huge mistake.

"You're an idiot," says the girl next to him, and he looks over, and it's her.

"You don't look like your picture," he says, which is possibly the single stupidest first line ever.

"I cut my hair," she says, rolling her eyes. "God, Lee, how do the girls stay on their feet around you? Or the boys. I don't care."

"Uh, girls, generally," he babbles. "Girls stay on their feet. Or not. Not that I'm...oh, goddammit."

But she's laughing.

"Jesus, calm down," she says. "I'm not gonna bite your head off. Not unless you talk stupid shit about things you don't know about again, anyway."

"No guarantees," he manages.

"So buy me a drink already," she says, "while I decide where my feet are going to be by the end of the night. If you're lucky, I might even school you in a couple of rounds of Mario Kart. That should be basic enough for you to keep up. I can take it slow."

"Uh, sure," he says, signaling the bartender. "Take what slow, exactly?"

"The education of Lee Adama," she smirks, and the tone of her voice says everything he's ever wanted to hear. "You've gotta live in the now, Lee. I'm gonna show you a whole new world."

"Tell you what," he says, looking her in the eye. "Why don't we just pick up a case of beer and we can start now?"

"You catch on quick," she says, sliding off the stool. For the first time, he takes in her skirt and tube top; he can't stop taking them in, in fact, and he never knew that gamers could be so hot. "Put your eyes back in and let's get out of here."

NB: I'm not trying to cast aspersions on gamers - I'm just demonstrating Lee's total ignorance. We're all okay, yeah?

That high score took him ALL DAY! And then a couple of months later, his phone got reset! At that point, he swore off BrickBreaker. But sometimes, he thinks about it ;)

Oh, Lee, you're going to get your eyes opened.
