Oh jesus I knew it would come down to these two. I decided on No Takebacks, if only for Lee's smile in that one screencap. Damn that smile. One thing I'll say about the brig scene though is that I really *needed* that scene when it happened. With the way things were going that season, with such a lack of L/K, it really hit the spot. :)

While I love the Brig Scene more (and book is so right on with Lee's rocking back & forth on his shoes .... and thrusting his hips forward I would add...hellooooo freudian body language), I had to vote for No Takebacks because that scene's essence is what gets me through all the endless plot switchbacks and hairpin turns for my lil shipper heart. No Takebacks makes their love, devotion, and history, in essence, eternal for me.

The brig scene, hands down. Whenever I'm tempted to toss all of S4 out of my personal canon, I remember the brig scene, and it makes up for a hell of a lot. I feel like they really, truly see each other, and their love is so clear and accepting and free of obligation or guilt. It's the culmination of pilots for me. (I don't, for various reasons, particularly like "Islanded". And the mutiny arc is awesome for buddycop!pilots, but is more of a pilotical dénouement for me, rather than the pinnacle.)

I forgot to say, for me the impossible tie would have been between the brig scene and the slap/kiss in Scar. Both are so, so fraught with all the love and tension that are the essence of pilots for me. Or wait, no, maybe the UB ringside snap!crackle!pop is a runner-up too. :P ...but UB is really just a singular flareup of their relationship, whereas the brig and Scar scenes encompass the whole breadth of their relationship (Zak, duty, love, lust, ambition, friendship... yadda yadda yadda, and I miss pilots so much!).
