DDP: Best of the Week

Well Shippers, my week has come to an end. I want to personally thank all of you for coming by, hanging out, and posting. I realize this week has been pretty crazy; school, work, and now a holiday! Happy Mother's Day to all mothers, grandmothers, and mothers of the furry kind. The fantastic rdave1  will be taking over DDP duties tomorrow. :)

Best of the Best!!!

I want to hear about your favorite thing of the week. Could be something you created (like a fic, vid, icon, etc), could be something you read on your flist, or maybe you made a  change to your wallpaper or journal. Did you re-discover an old favorite fic? Maybe you found a new community you think we should know about, or uploaded a bad ass icon. Post your personal best of the week here!

ez_as_pi  posted the final chapter to her NaNo fic.

A hot, smutty section in the latest chapter of IU by amidala_thrace (you tell him what to do, Kara) ;)

I got a dl of a Jason Mraz live cd I've been wanting from sick_muse_icons - A community that I highly suggest everyone checks out. It's always got great music recommendation and sharing posts, and pretty icon batches.

And, all the support I've gotten from everyone this week. That's totally the Best of the Best for me.

I'm also happy about the new comm ontd_bsg. Very fun!

Finally, I'm working on a new comm called shippyicons which is a multi-fandom icon community for both old and new ship icons (and only shipping icons!!). Makes me crazy to go all over creation looking for awesome K/L icons. Now that I'm getting into Dr. Who, it gives me a place for those, too. I'm gonna pimp to my flist soon. YAY!

And this comm - I love it every day. K/L Shippers Rock!

I just discovered this really cute (but old) Tahmoh interview:
Tahmoh (http://www.galactica.tv/battlestar-galactica-2003-interviews/tahmoh-penikett-galactica.tv-interview-3.html), in which he totally ships K/L.
I also reread indigo419's Elect, which is an alltime favourite of mine. The scene in the gym is probably my favourite passage in fanfiction ever.

It doesn't have anything to do with BSG, but my highlight of the week would have to be the latest Community episode. It was epic.

I re-read some old favorite fics, including "The Weight is a Gift." Everybody should read it, even the people who say they don't like babyfic. Maybe especially those people. I dare anyone to not like this story!

You're totally right. There's is nothing like really getting into a fic only to find out that it's not completed. :(

The most frustrating aspect is more often than not an author stops writing when it's time to get our lovelies together. You read chapter after chapter of angst and alterna partners or miscommunication or kidnappings or trauma and then silence. *pout* I'm much more selective about how many WIPS I'm willing to read at one time these days.

Also, thank you so much for posting on my topics this week, it really meant a lot. :)

The poor Fallout Shelter. Ever since I left the A/S group I don't think a single story has been updated. It makes me sad. As for FFnet, I literally deleted everything. sorry.

Dude, I read "The Weight is a Gift" yesterday and I want to THANK YOU so much for the rec. I see it like a sort of Kara's character study more than a baby!fic per se. The writing blew me away, as it did the author's exquisite sensibility to handle such a thorny topic as an unwanted pregnancy. And I love how she deals with Kara/Sam and Kara/Lee. Best babyfic I've ever read for sure :D

I've really enjoyed all the fic recommendations this week on DPP. It just gives to ton to do when I want to escape while at work or just for lunch.:)
