Oh, book rec for you... Fina Ludlow series, they're mysteries, by Ingrid Thoft. Fina is PI and very, very Kara, and she has a friend who reminds me a Helo and a police detective friend who is very Lee.

Anyway, the first one is Loyalty. They are soooo good.
