DPP: Spam me with kisses

Hey, me again. Sorry for the late hour of this post. 

Today's topic: KISSES!!!!

I know that we had picspams in the past but they are always welcomed. And of course a picspam with kisses is the perfect opportunity to announce our rewatch of EoJ/Rapture which will happen tomorrow at about this hour (aka 7 pm gmt).

So, kisses - pics of kisses, gifs of kisses, drabbles, fics, ideas about kisses. Kisses that happened, kisses that almost happened, kisses that should have happened, even kisses that never should have happened....

I actually wrote this a while ago but I was thinking about continuing it the other day so I'll repost for inspiration, good thought and fitting the theme-iness.

A kiss that didn’t happen in Maelstrom.


“It’s funny though after all we’ve been through we are right back where we started. You’re CAG and I’m your problem, hotshot pilot.”

They chuckle, companionable and real. Lee misses her laugh. This is all Kara, and he thinks about how it’s never Kara on deck. Starbuck goes with tyllium fumes and the rumble and clank that surround them. This is Kara beautiful and vulnerable. He’s trying to bolster her back into her alter ego, but he revels in being with Kara almost alone under the wing of her viper.

“I guess that’s all we’ll ever be, now.”

Lee just stares at her. That’s not true. They can never really go back that far no matter how far they may have journeyed forward. No matter where they sit now. So he reaches an arm around her neck and pulls her head to him, laying his lips in a perfect, innocent kiss on the top of her head. Decadently, he breathes in the smell of her hair, crisp and Kara and for one more moment his. He needs it, the smell of her, if this is it.

Then Kara bends, leaning into him and tucking her face into his neck. Her lips press into his skin, not kissing but building pressure for longer than is okay. Lee feels the tension grow in his muscles, not wanting this to be true. Things are good with Dee, but the façade is crumbling as soon as Kara doesn’t mention Sam in return. Her lips burn against him, sear him with the reality that they can never, ever go back. They never could. So they stay.

This feels like a very real moment and it rings true to a different way that scene could have gone. Beautifully written.

I think one of the reasons that scene is so heartbreaking is that Lee and Kara feel genuinely connected without ever touching or even really looking at each other. But it could have gone so differently.

I do hope you make it up to me by continuing this. I don't even mind if I end up crying some more. ;)

One direction for continuation is here (http://kdbleu.livejournal.com/30386.html). Although it was not specifically written as such, it certainly works. How the outcome of that CAP would changed if Lee and Kara had connected more before taking off fascinates me.
