Today's Topic: The Power of a God

For today, you are the goddess of reincarnation! (Congrats!) The humans and cylons have just discovered Earth 2.0, Kara has poofed and Lee has climbed mountains. Nature (or a mountain lion) has taken its course and now it is your job to give the souls of Kara and Lee new bodies. You can choose any time in history or in the future.

Who are they now?
What do they look like?
When do they live?
What essential parts of them do you keep?
How do they meet?
Who else is reincarnated with them?
What is the course of their lives?
Will you make it easier on them? Harder? Why?
How would their story end?

Give us the whole picture either in description or in fic. Or maybe a graphic will do the trick.

I originally read this post on my phone, which doesn't show pictures in posts so I just sort of glazed over it but when I got to the computer and saw what it was, I cracked up. I'll be back later with a real contribution but thanks for putting a smile on my face early. :D

I've been working on this for a while. It's unfinished, but maybe somebody will get a kick out of it...


Across time their souls continue to find each other.


In Troy she is the Greek warrior; fearless, ready to battle anyone placed before her. He is kin to the Trojan King; a relation to be sent to the temple of Apollo in service as a priestess to the people.

But then the gods begin to war and Apollo flees, leaving his servant at the mercy of the sword. On a beach made sticky with blood she defies the Greek King to claim him as her prize. And though they find love for a time, a stray arrow falls the warrior and the priestess finds his prayers unanswered.



In Egypt he is warrior; the dutiful solder who has won glory for his king. She is a princess left without a land; the last hope of her people in their exile and slavery.

But even a solder wishes to wash away the smell of battle, and even a slave can notice the form of their master. Yet in the halls of the Pharaoh the walls have ears and she is forced to choose between her love of a man and her love of her people. And though she can not have him in life, she manages to join him in death.



In Ireland she is a princess once again; but of a small clan, proud and fierce. He is a man lost at sea; a fallen fighter who did not die.

But the tides are kind to him, washing him ashore on the bank of her homeland. In a hut on the edge of the sea, she lies and says that she is the daughter of a farmer. She nurses him back to life and he finds a way into her heart. But it is dangerous for him to stay and she is has been pledged to another, so they set out on their journeys, not knowing that the next time they would meet he would call her, “My Queen” and she would call him, “Beloved Nephew of My Husband”.



In Italy she is waiting; wishing for a chance to prove herself, spoiling for a fight. He is the beloved offspring who has never rebelled.

But young blood runs hot, and palm to palm as holy palmer kiss leads quickly to holy matrimony and kisses of a different kind all together. Yet kisses can not stop a mouth quick to anger, and soon the fight has found her and carried her far outside of Verona's Walls and he is caught up with the orders of his parents and the longings of his heart and the advice of a priest who practices medicine. But notes can go astray and neither can live long without the other, so happy dagger – here is thy sheath.

The idea was the souls of Kara and Lee were every pair of famous star-crossed lovers ever. I still have several pairs plotted out, including Lee saying "I want you to draw me like one of your French girls", but I've put a hold on everything else until I finish my big bang story.

What do they look like? I actually love the idea that maybe they don’t look like Lee or Kara, entirely. That their connection is bigger than hazel or blue eyes. But I also think those physical things make them recognizable both to us and to each other.

What essential parts of them do you keep? The things that make Kara Kara and Lee Lee are the hard stuff, the brokenness. Healing is for me the thing that’s missing from their story so that still needs to happen.

Who else is reincarnated with them? This is an interesting question because it depends so much on the specific story they’re born back into. Part of me believes everyone has be part of the story in order to find peace and reconciliation, but that ripples out through the other characters. Does it upset the lives of characters who found a better peace? Does that keep the cycle going forever?

Will you make it easier on them? Harder? Why? Things need to be just as hard or as easy as they need to be to make things right. Making things unnecessarily difficult seems unfair but making things easy seems unfulfilling as well.

How would their story end? I need happy. They need resolution.

I also love the idea that they don't look anything like they look now, but that they have the same basic elements in themselves and some of the same flaws and struggles. I would love to make it hard for them, but only because I think some difficulties create wisdom and depth and make the joys in life all the richer. And I would give them each other to weather the days.

Exactly. Although telling parallel stories where Lee and Kara finally meet at the end ready and healed would be interesting too.

Ok I'm going to reincarnate them into this world. Kara is definitely a cop, probably detective(I'd go with homicide or gangs). Lee is the ADA (he wanted to be a lawyer!) for the precinct.

I think they would remain pretty true to who they were (hence the jobs) but I'd definitely make it a little easier on them. I think they would continue to challenge each other, and miscommunicate, and mess up, and frak at inappropriate times....but they'd always back each other up, and in the end, they would get it right.

Not all that creative but I'm pressed for time! lol

Yes! I always feel inclined to put Kara into some kind of authority role - police, military, etc. I just love her getting to kick ass! Heehee!

Ok I thought about this kinda thinie after reading on of KAG's fics...I think it would be interesting to have them swap genders.

Kara is reincarnated as a male, and works on the understanding and accepting ones worth and how to accept love without running from it.
Lee is reincarnated as a female and works on pride, and the ability to trust inner instincts...to not over think

They would both still have their eyes....and level of fitness in their physique.

The when is hard for me...part of me says at the same point in the next cycle because in my mind there will be one...the other part of me wants to see them encumbered by the need to survive early life on earth, which is much less stressful than the war.

So they either meet at the academy or when young teenagers at school.

Helo is reincarnated with them (can't help it I love him)

I would make it easier on them...because their last life wasn't exactly...

And they would end happy, together, imperfect but unwavering in their commitment and loyalty (I'm a happy ending kinda gal)

Sooooo....Probably sounds crazy lol

I'm a lurker...a fairly recent lurker having found my way here at the end of last year...after watching BSG for the first time. I am trying to work up the courage to start writing and posting it. I haven't written in a long long time but I used to love it. There are so many talented writers on here don't know that I could ever compare :) (YOU are one of them!)
