Oh man, this one's my FAVORITE. Really really really. And it's when I definitely knew I was a shipper. Unfortunately, I'm going to see the Hunger Games tonight so I won't be at the rewatch. But I will be there in spirit.

I know, this is when I knew I was in over my head for them too - it's the twist that really makes them so unlike other tv couples. (I'd have been happy and squeeful and SO RELIEVED for them if the sexing was real, but when it turned out not to be and then things got messy, I knew I was in trouble because I SHIPPED THEM SO HARD)

Who doesn't love that teaser? And the angst is still manageable and delicious at this point because yeah they fight--but we still know that it's because they both want to be with each other. (Ahem, no one is having sudden and unfathomable "deep feelings" for other people just yet.) Ah pilots. You were golden once.

Yes, "deep feelings" developing over Pyramid games and self-defence classes. I could do without those.

And knowing they want each other so badly is precisely why this episode is such a wrench - the first time I watched it, I was practically SCREAMING at the screen for them to at least make up with each other first. Thwarted romance destroys me, but broken friendships destroy me even more.

See I was so caught up in the cuteness that was Billy/Dee I didn't know I shipped Kara/Lee, but then the sexing was happening and I was happy, but then it was Baltar and my heart felt like it had been put through a blender - and that's when I knew Pilots were my OTP.

I knew pilots were my OTP from pretty much Miniseries part 2, but this was what set it in stone, because it's where they first broke my heart.

this episode proved to me that not only were the pilots my OTP for this show (I knew that after the reunion in the miniseries) but OMG I AM A SICK PUPPY because I *adore* the fact that she punches him when he's cruel and he hits her right back. I don't approve of violence and I certainly don't approve of anyone punching anyone, but OMG I LOVE THAT SCENE. The best I can figure is that I love that they are so close, so loving, just like siblings that love/hate each other, they know each other's soft spots for emotional beating, and the equality of the relationship - that she gets him back as good or better than he got her! /rambling

I must be a sick puppy, then, because I love that scene! I get that some people don't like seeing physical violence in a relationship at all, but in the context of their relationship it makes a LOT of sense.

(and yes, Miniseries 2 reunion was where I knew I'd fallen HARD for them too. KLG1, though, is the point at which I knew I could never stop shipping them. lol.)
