International Rewatch - s01e10 - Hand of God

In less than 30 minutes it's time for the big mission. Where going to see planning from Starbuck, kick-ass piloting from Lee, Adama as a dad and lots and lots of Gaius.

Also, I'm pondering the idea of redoing the poll for this rewatch before Season 2. If there are not enough people interested I don't see why would I practically spam the comm with 2 posts every Saturday. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to do this but I'm afraid that the interest from the rest of you is not high enough to justify posting on a weekly basis.

Hi. Nice to hear from you. I was thinking that maybe in those weeks when we can meet to watch together we can comment/chat/discuss as an extension of the thread from the let's say "original" rewatch or on a normal LJ post. I really don't want to bother the whole comm.

Head!Six has the CHEESIEST costumes. She really does. (good thing Tricia Helfer was a model, she manages to look halfway to amazing even in that stuff)

"because you're my son" is the most stupid explanation ever. If I was in Lee's shoes here I would have decked him.

They're BOTH just killing me in that scene. There is so much they're not saying there and it gets buried under the insecurity and pulling back (all while eyefrakking and personal space invasions are going on).....classic everything-under-the-surface pilots.

Seeing Helo and Sharon's part just reminded me exactly how compressed the first season is - it's only 37 days since he got stranded on Caprica/the war began? :(

Oh Kara - she dies inside a little bit every second of this mission. it's really hurts her to be out of the fight like that. Good thing that Adama didn't made her commander of Pegasus. she would have done something drastic.

But seriously, Lee's face just makes me wibble (just LOOK at the way Jamie's expression changes when Bill says it), and the Adama family theme makes its debut (more danger of face-crumpling!).

Yeah, just look at her face in the CIC while the mission is on **sigh**.

It's so blindingly obvious without so many words that it's really not just about the job for her - she wants to be in the battle so she can have Lee's back, and it's killing her not to. And of course, we see Kara get to feeling for the nuggets too - it's amazing how personal the job is, for her.

I just LOVE the way that Lee is speaking alone in the cockpit. And the fact that Gaius Fraking Baltar thinks that he lost his mind.

This is one of the few happy moments that they have as a group I just like this.

I did notice, both pilots seem to like rambling to themselves when they're alone in the cockpit/on a mission and under extreme life-and-death stress (well that happens a lot, but in this season, it's kind of obvious).

YES. I love this so much for being one of their far-too-few episodes of Pure Happiness (and Bamber looks SO GOOD with his hair half-drenched).

Also, pilots having a moment are hot. (goes without saying but I never tire of saying it)

another pilot-half hug of cuteness (sorry, I jumble my words) is Kara and Laura hugging. So spontaneous, and SO MUCH CUTE.

Y'know, this episode just makes me so HAPPY, like I want to celebrate everything in it.

**sigh** yes, I know things are not too far from going down the toilet, but still, the mission is accomplished! Lee and PapAdama have father-son moments! Lee and Kara have classic eyefrakking pilotmoments, and end the episode happy! Everyone is joyous, and nearly everyone lives! <3
