DPP: Missing Moments

This one is kind of in line with the_applecart prompt for the week. There are plenty of places where it's obvious that something has gone on between pilots. And there are places where it's obvious that something should have gone on between them but that we don't actually get to see it or even have it hinted at. It is, of course, our duty to fill in those little holes.

Tell me your own personal head!canon for a few of them. What are you favorite fics that fill in a missing moment? Itching to write your own? Want someone else to take your idea and run with it? This one is kind of tailor-made for me, heh. Most of the fics I write are this sort of thing.

There's 1 (http://wartytoads.livejournal.com/8532.html), 2 (http://wartytoads.livejournal.com/8910.html), 3 (http://wartytoads.livejournal.com/9005.html), 4 (http://wartytoads.livejournal.com/9438.html), & 5 (http://wartytoads.livejournal.com/9549.html), of the Five Returns of Kara Thrace (my current favorite of my own fics). Buzzing the Beast (http://wartytoads.livejournal.com/7465.html) which is something in the big gap between bringing Sam back and the groundbreaking ceremony on New Caprica (the mother of all "fill in the blank" scenarios! And because that one is SO open it's pretty difficult.) Pretty much all of my fics are this kind of thing. I like to fix and fill canon.

(This has gotten me all nostalgic for the good-old-days of Harry Potter fic. Aw, now I wanna go hunt down my old favorites. Talk about something that doesn't seem right when I read it! I've got so much HP fic in my head that I read those books and I'm like ".......wait something's missing.")

I'm at the point in my fannish life where I don't think there are many missing moments left in canon that I haven't explored yet in fic. (I've written A LOT OF FIC. Lol.) So I'm mostly AU these days I guess.

I do think s4/s4.5 leaves the most space for people to make up their own pilots moments because we got so little in canon sadly.

I think most fic I've read (aside from pre-mini) is missing moments fic, so it's tough to narrow down any particular favorites. But I always like when the moments highlight some interpretation or feeling I didn't consider for pilots.

workerbee73 wrote a good fic (http://workerbee73.livejournal.com/3949.html) for the scene in Sometimes a Great Notion when Kara finds Lee just after Dee's death. I wished there'd been some comfort for both of them there--Lee mourning the loss of his estranged wife, Kara grieving over her own funeral pyre--and behold, here's something to fill that hole.
