DPP Color Week: Orange

Welcome!  Yesterday's RED post was a great, even producing a wonderful story by workerbee73.  Today, (can you guess?) is

Orange

Orange, like red, is also a warm color and stimulator.  However, unlike red, it is not so popular, and is generally a love it or hate it color.  How do you feel about orange?  Love it?  Hate it?  (I know I hated it growing up, but no longer)  How about pilots, what do you love and hate about pilots and the series?  Give us a rant, but also throw in some love!  Lastly, what's the first thing that comes to mind when you think of ORANGE?

Cally hates that Pilots won't just get together.  She also hates that she's in an orange jumpsuit all the time.

Hee! Sadly, my main association with orange on the show is the weird fake-tan color of Lee's skin when he's wearing the fat!suit and make-up. The man is carrot-ish :/

Yes!! I love that fic, always makes me want to eat oranges afterwards. It was probably the first thing that came to mind when I wrote this post.

I have nothing pilots related to share, except to say that orange is my favorite color...so YAY! Why? Cuz orange is so less egotistical than the other colors and also wicked vibrant in every shade.

Orange is so bad-ass that they didn't even try to name its namesake fruit something else, they just called it what is was, orange. Nobody thought to just name a strawberry 'Red' did they? Or a banana 'Yellow'? Nope. No way. Only orange can pull it off being the underdog and the boss simultaneously like that.

Yup, I love orange. :)

OH!! B T W . . . I read your Cave Pilots! WHOOT! And please forgive me cuz my weekend internet connection is sketchy and 100% illegally neighbor-ganked because I am a morally bankrupt human being so I didn't get to comment yet, BUT I WILL because there is soooo much love in me for it that I have to spew some out at you. my best friend in college loved orange, it was her favourite colour ever. Unfortunately I tend to associate it with the robes of fundamentalist religious crazies in my country, so it is tainted for me :(

But oranges are my favourite fruit. Breaking the skin open, that SMELL....mmmmmmmmmmmmm. Pure heaven.

Orange could be said to be the color that pilots most yield to: caution. They are ever fearful of the other, Kara of Lee's judgment, Lee that Kara will hurt him again, and both afraid of the spectre of Zak between them. So, they stay in protective mode, surrounded by their own prickly safety cones until it's too late and their paths have diverged too far to join again

Boo. :(

I really do think of the hangar deck and the orange jumpsuits when I think of orange and pilots. 33 and YCGHA and hopeful season 1 pilots in particular. :D
