DPP: Booze

Yay, it's weekend. Therefore we shall party! With booze!



Who wants to play bartender and come up with things like:

* A real-world equivalent to Ambrosia
* A Starbuck
* An Apollo
* A Pilots drink that symbolizes what we love about the both of them

If you want to go crazy, come up with drinks for other characters, specific episodes, or any other BSG goodness you can think of.

Midori and Absinthe (both a lovely green) are good RW equivs for Ambrosia I always think. And I'm not much of a drinker/mixologist, but if I were to come up with a drink for pilots that symbolizes what we love -- I think it'd have to be called The 50-50 and contain equally measured halves of two yummy but vastly different alcoholic beverages that complement each other completely! :)

Absinthe - wow, that brings back memories... or rather not. Good choice for the green.

I’m well stuck into a bottle of red at a party (which I’ve sneaked off from on to charge my camera, and then got lost online). As I’m in the zone, I have a few ideas:
Ambrosia: crème de menthe and vodka – not saying it would taste nice, but it would look right ish... or maybe lime cordial, tonic water and gin. That'd be green and lethal.
A Starbuck: Whiskey - for her hard-core nature, she’s a spirit girl, with some dry ginger (for her humour) and then a dash lemon for her zestyness.
An Apollo: To represent his sense of humour, grenadine, pomegranate juice with snaps over ice and a touch of mint for his white smile – all this floating in layers over ice because he’s a cool guy. It would also give Kara something to rib him over 
For them both – (this is actually a cocktail), a War Cloud. The name speaks for itself when it’s these two, but it has whiskey in it –for good old Kara, some brandy – distinguished Lee, vodka (I think that’s right) for the purity of them, and finally some kind of cream liquor - for when it’s nice between them ;)
Okay, back to the party for me.

Good call on the absinthe, it's perfect for the green and hardcore drinking.

I always thought that Kara is the kind of girl who likes her spirits neat, no sugar or flavours getting in the way - she'd definitely be in it for Jack Daniels, pure vodka or tequila.

And I think clear liquids/tequila suit Lee very well too, though I wouldn't put it past pilots to occasionally get a beer when they're just chilling, or some funny-tasting liquieurs if they're in a goofy mood and think it'd be funny to try something new.

As for a drink that might work well symbolically for pilots, I'd suggest a martini (gin + vermouth + an olive) which would be delicious as well as powerfully alcoholic, with no other crap getting in the way.
