DPP: Comment!Fic Mini-Exchange

no_takebacksHi everyone! My name is Dannica and I'll be your friendly DPP host over the next week. I'm kind of new at this so please be gentle ;)
I thought we could start off with a mini-exchange of sorts. Is there fic you've been DYING to read but can't or won't write? What about pilot art, vids, or gifs you desperately want to see but can't make?
Rules of the mini-exchange:
Post a comment with your request (prompt of whatever) & if someone (or multiple someones) want to fulfill it, they can comment back with their creation (fic/art/vid/crack), or if they know of any related recommendations, with links to the recommendations.
If you request something, PLEASE consider fulfilling someone else's request - if you can't or don't want to create something totally new, consider reccing something related to their request.
It doesn't have to be anything big or fancy - this is just for fun! And we can keep it going throughout the week as well :)

Something I would love to read is more post-YCGHA fic a la the adorable Bum Wheel (http://bsg-creative.livejournal.com/22397.html), so if anyone feels like trying that it would be awesomes.
Plus I think Dannica should write me some fic where Helo has conversations with pilots about each other and somehow they overhear and other stuff happens, because I know how she loves Helo and she owes me for having stolen my DPP idea. But other people can do that too if they want :) I'm not picky.

Date: 2011-06-13 10:03 pm (UTC)i have a helo/kara friendship kara/lee bunny running around in my head, set post-caprica during home, that i've been wanting to write as part of the alternate fairy-tale endings. i've been hesitating because, well, it's a bit of guilty self-indulgence (lee is a jerk and helo calls him on it and lee and kara have schmoopy hurt/comfort lovey-dovey times) on my part and not exactly the best example of writing/plotting. BUT i may polish it up and post it later tonight/in the morning :) also will work on finishing my porny commentfic from forever ago!
LOVE your post-ycgha request. i hope somebody takes you up on that! act of contrition/ycgha are two of my fave eps to rewatch :)

Date: 2011-06-13 10:12 pm (UTC)This sounds awesome. Write it. I mean, sure it would never happen on the show, but that's what fic is for sometimes. I mean, there's a reason it used to be called fanwank. Just saying. And there aint nothing wrong with lovey-dovey times, or Helo.
I know! I love that time, those episodes, I really hope someone writes it. I mean, I know it's been done, and done well, but I still want MORE!

1)Starbuck's outfit in Sacrifice, which I like but always wonder about
2)Lots of people have written fic where she tries to frak him out of the whole suicidal space walk thing
Why not combine the two into something that would start roughly like this:
Lee has a night off, Kara finds out, wrangles it so that she also gets the night off, gets all gussied up and then goes out to find Lee and *ahem* bring him back to life.
What happens next? Do they miss each other and just end up on opposite ends of a gun? Does she see him with Dee and get angsty and SHOOT HIM ON PURPOSE :O? Do they frak before he goes to meet Dee and generally have a good time being superhot pilots? Who knows!
Anyone? Fic? Anyone?

Date: 2011-06-13 10:59 pm (UTC)that first vid - have you not seen it before? it is AMAZING. i love that song, too. i swear to god, i probably watch that vid at least once or twice a day. it makes me so happy and never fails to cheer me up. it's my favorite getting-ready-for-work or getting-ready-to-go-out vid to listen to/dance to/watch/squee at. and agreed wholeheartedly on being able to watch katee do anything at all, all day long. *le happy sigh*

A snippet about kara's relationship with him when she was a kid.
Lee meeting him and having a conversation with him(either as hallucination or he didn't die or there was a backup model).
Something about the piano scene and Kara's love for her dad's music.
I'll draw something for some of the prompts tomorrow to make it valid. It's past 1AM here D:
