*RAUCOUS CHEERING*
What a week this is shaping up to be! I am absolutely ECSTATIC with the participation I’ve seen on the comm the last couple days. You guys are AMAZING! I have been completely astounded with the sheer quality of submissions. If you haven’t taken a minute to scroll back through the hundreds of comments, do it now! There are so many fabulous snapshots – from both well-known fandom writers and fresh talent alike – that will leave you grinning. Kudos ALSO to all of you who’ve come out to cheer on the people on the frontlines. YOU ROCK!
Today I’m switching gears into gameplay (though you are MOST WELCOME to still submit fic and artwork on the previous comms). Our vid today takes us back in the darker side of BSG... with a TV show from my youth: The Incredible Hulk.
Your challenge today is to unearth those deep dark secrets for Kara and Lee (and other members of the crew – if they connect to Kara and Lee in some way). But it isn’t enough just to TELL us what those secrets are... (besides, we’ve already done that this week) ...this time, you have to try to obscure the secrets. Today’s topic (based on a drinking game by exactly the same name) is:
TWO TRUTHS AND ONE LIE
Here’s the plan.
1. Come up with two facts about our pilots (or others), and one lie. These should be connected in some way that makes them difficult to guess. (You WANT people to guess wrong... and you are making up the answers, so only YOU know the truth.)
Example:
On Galactica, everyone assumed the silver thumb ring was Zak’s; a final homage to a relationship that ended in a burning pyre on the Academy’s tarmac. It wasn’t. It was her father’s wedding ring, dropped into her waiting fingers as he walked out the door; never looking back.
The Major wasn’t the first or even the second. Zak had always had a thing for a petite brunettes and Kara had never minded sharing his interests in lithe young women.
When Kara realized what she was – a ghost of the girl who’d once died – her decision was made for her. Standing on the field, she knew that she’d never return. She smiled sadly, forcing herself to memorize the details in her heart; needing to take them with her when she left. And then, with a tug, she was simply gone.
(Answer will come later...)
2. List these three items in a comment. Feel free to be creative! (Fic / manips / screencaps / vids etc. You know the routine.)
3. Get out and GUESS on other people’s Two Truths and One Lie. (And if you are playing it as a drinking game, get ready to take a drink every time you get one wrong.)
4. At some point in the next 24 hours, the authors need to reveal your answer. (So everyone needs to fess-up by midnight Wednesday.)
This is all getting rather confusing... so let’s make it even MORE complicated!
If you are feeling particularly saucy, I dare you. No... I DOUBLE DOG DARE YOU to do this for YOURSELF! And since I’m ALWAYS up for a dare, I’ll give you an example (of me). Same rules (as for pilots) apply here.
Example:
1. I have gone hand-gliding in the Rockies.
2. I have gone cliff diving (no bungee).
3. I have sat on the hood of a moving car (driving down a road).
So which one is it peeps? Because ONE OF THOSE is a lie, but the others are, in fact, true. (Again, I’ll reveal THAT later today.)
Your manip challenge today?
100 COMMENTS PER MANIP!
So grab a glass of ambrosia (or gingerale if you’re like me) and start to play, Shipper Nation!
Games day is about to begin!
