ETA: Uh, I'm not sure what's up with the formatting and why this poll appears multiple times. It looks fine in the editing box. Just fill in the top one, maybe?

Look how young and pretty they are! Not that they're not always pretty, but ya know...

I think I'll just pick "all of the above" on the poll. :P

Damn, JBambz' pecs are almost as big as Katee's boobs.

...I realize that was not the point of this picture. Whoops.

I was surprised which way my answers went today. I bet if you asked again another time, I'd pick differently, which is what keeps me hanging around these parts. I am constantly finding new things to love (obsess over) and from one day to the next, I like different piloty aspects. :)

can i copy your comment? it's exactly my opinion... every day is different, sometimes even different by the hour.

Oh, this. It was so hard to choose, because it definitely depends on my mood. :)

Tara, I cannot thank you enough for the ticky boxes because I don't know what I would have done without them!!! :)

But in thinking about it, I think what I love most is the epic friendship beneath all of it. I think when the friendship is lost (like in season 3) everything else is in shambles. Because as long as they were friends, things were okay. And the love and trust comes out of that friendship. When they're just...everything to each other. Guhhh...

And I love mature Season 4 Piloticians. Because they were starting to get their shit together. *sigh*

I'm gonna go wibble in a corner now.

Well there is an element of angst to the beginning, but it's more subtle. Where as season 3 really beats you over the head with it.

(and more contrived).
I think that's definitely part of it... why it's not as "favoritey" as Season 1... because I loves me my S1 pilots and that angst... says the girl writing mega angst right now

thinking of it, you're right. i mean, S1 is full of angst, but is different, is in between the lines, softer somehow

I think the angst in season 1-2 comes out of a more interesting place (for me) than the somewhat contrived angst of season 3 (which was basically because the writers threw in these two other people into the mix). I preferred the angst that grew out of Lee's and Kara's own character flaws than the introduction of other people making for angst, you know? (Which is kind of what you said, actually, so I should have just read further in the thread :P)

I was just thinking that I also really like the "You weren't there for me/you ordered my death" (wasn't being on the Peggy FUN?). I subscribe to that issue. Right up there with "your timing SUCKS, Sir."

cheers.

Funny you should mention timing... I only just read the comments on this post, and the story I finished this afternoon actually refers to their awful timing. They needed to be locked in a room back in S2 or earlier.

I'd have checked the S3 box, too, but there was just too damn much pain to consider it a favorite of mine. Sure, they were hot as hell and said lots of beautiful things in EoJ/UB, but in the end, we also have fat!lee, airlocks, hatred, violence, and ultimate separation. There's not enough good in S3 to make me love it. They were just shitty to themselves, each other, and their spouses that season. SUCKS.

And yet UB is the best pilots epi. Sigh.

YES. UB is my favorite pilots episode, possibly favorite episode ever, but I couldn't check Season 3 as my favorite piloty season.

Apparently my answers to this poll were basically "YES".

Hmmm, this poll made me realize that I really loved Pilots most in the first two seasons. I think it might be because in S1 and 2 there was just that hopeful quality to their interactions that I feel was completely lost after S2.5. (Well, really after the shooting and then more so when Anders returned.) Plus, as I've gotten into more shows I've noticed I love the banter, and that aspect got bogged down by layers of angst and misery later in the show.

(I must admit: I was tempted to check the infidelicious box, but I decided against it simply because I adore the first season too much for the hotness to overtake it.)

And the actual show as a whole wasn't epic doomy angst, either. And it didn't resort to pathetic, unnecessary reasons for plots and relationships. *curbs epic rant*
