Is There Anything That Compares to Pilots?

Hello shippers! Did everyone stay up too late last night reading fic? I know I did!! <3<3 Thank you all so much for the recommendations. I will be in fic for a very long time.

Today, I am extending a conversation (sort of) that started on Twitter about other ships. GASP! Yes, other ships. I know they exist, but frankly, they are seriously weak in comparison to my obsession with pilots. Or they last for a little while and fizzle. So, that leads me to wonder:

Who else do you ship or have you shipped since you fell in love with pilots? What show? Why? How do they compare to pilots? Has your pilot love faded in favor of another kinder and more happy-ending ship?

What say you shipper nation?

The Lymond Chronicles is, hands down, the best book series I have ever read. They are a bit dense and have a historical setting, which I think prevented them from having more of an audience than they do. But I would encourage you to give them a shot. As a Kara fan, you would enjoy the main character (although it is a man) and they are full of strong women of all ages.

The English Patient has fantastic acting, beautiful music and phenomenal cinematography. But it will break your heart.

As far as shipping - shows like BSG, at least for me, come along every 10 years or so. Maybe by then I'll be ready. So far, I've resisted.

Dense and historical can be tough for me, but maybe it'll grab me!

I've been warned of the heartbreaky nature of The EP. Maybe I'l rent it when I'm in mood for a good cry.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I always enjoy a good romance, but I've never gotten invested the way I did with Pilots. The closest was Pacey/Joey from Dawson's Creek which made the fic bug bite me hard but nothing on the level of this even. I don't think there'll be anything to come along to replace pilots for a long while for me. So I'll probably be the last fangirl kicking around LJ bemoaning everyone leaving me. ;)
