No Consequences!

"What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas."

Even when they do get close to one another, neither Kara or Lee ever quite let go of the complications of what they're doing. So in honor of those who are in Vegas for the weekend, here's your challenge: write or describe a moment between Kara and Lee where they really do give up on the consequences. If you want to go AU and actually write about Vegas, be my guest! Prompting encouraged ;)

[This did not end up the way I wanted and sort of fails the Vegas idea, but it's what came out. Hope no one minds?]

"So, this is it?" Lee asks as they sit on the Raptor wing, watching Bill support Laura a few feet away. Watching little Hera smile up at her father. Glorying in the summer reached after such a long winter.

"Yup," she replies, jiggling it slightly in her hands. Knowing he wasn’t talking about the liquor.

Lee smiles and looks down at her and the bottle. "We should share it," he suggests, catching the flickers of sunlight through the green. It reminding him of the glimmer in her eyes when excited. The way she hasn't been in the longest of times.

"No, Lee. This one is a toast for us." And with that she takes his hand, drawing him across the grass feathered by the winds. Walking him for long minutes; him trailing behind her in body and mind to where in the cool shadows below a tree she sits him down but remains standing. "This is a celebration of us."

Lee's already dry mouth now craves only what moisture she can bring. A craving that deepens when she undresses slowly, then kneels to undress him. Naked, she collects the bottle and takes a sip, then passes it to him. He draws in the fire, it sliding down his throat to warm all the parts of him. She takes it back and tips a little on his one nipple, then licks it off looking up at him as she does so. And for the first time he sees a glimmer of that old green fire.

Throatily, he whispers, "My turn."

Thanks, it didn't quite work for the prompt idea, but it seemed sweet enough. :)

I'm actually not sure why the show *didn't* focus on the fact that this was basically a suicide mission...

BSG had an odd habit of not focusing on the more interesting facet of a situation. It should have come up somewhere that Adama was sending his son and surrogate daughter to die. I mean, really.

And that's such a cool concept. Although another of the oddities of BSG is the use of, despite lack of fit, Biblical analogies.

No worries. Enjoyed this snippet. C'mon, when is K/L smut ever a bad thing? :)

A bit somber, but with a prompt like that it's kind of impossible not to be. Liked how you did this :)

Oh, this is so fraught and quite rightly so. The last line is a killer. Perfect.

V. late to seeing this, but had to chip in....I know that the assassination being a suicide mission seems self-evident to some of us, but at least until that point, look at what happened to would-be assassins - Boomer only got locked up for shooting the old man (Cally shooting her on her way to her court-martial was not an officially sanctioned action) and even Gina Six, a Cylon on the Pegasus, was put in the brig instead of getting a bullet to the head (what she endured after she went in the bring, though..)

Hell, even Helo and Chief weren't killed straightaway for what they did to Thorne, i.e. attacking and killing an officer. PapAdama might have hoped that if the mission succeeded and they killed Cain, the worst that would happen would be they'd be taken into custody and he could at least get them out alive and relatively unhurt. Yes, that was excessively optimistic, but going by precedent it wasn't ~impossible.

**GUUUUUUUUHHHH**

This is so much hotness and angst and tension, I cannot get over it. And make no mistake, it is SERIOUSLY HOT (am I repeating myself? But it bears repeating). Also the last line is perfection, I can imagine it going down like this, so much.

ia with that. Lee and Kara (and especially Kara, because she ended up having to go to it alone) feeling like they were going to their deaths makes absolute sense, it's just that there is at least a slim chance they'd survive the immediate aftermath of the assassination if Helo and Chief were anything to go by.

They are such angst-puppies. They finally get to have a moment for each other, and they lie awake all night long. I can't imagine being so tired that I wouldn't frak Lee Adama into the ground. lol
