Truth or Dare?

Today the pilots are playing "Truth or Dare?" game. They just need a little bit of our help to get started.  

Settings: Pre-mini (between Daybreak flashbacks and Zak’s accident). It is late night and Lee and Kara are stuck in a room together sharing a bottle (or two) of Ambrosia. They are both feeling uncharacteristically chatty and adventurous so Kara suggests to play "Truth or Dare". I wrote a short background story that explained how did Kara and Lee end up alone without Zak but I decided that it's better to leave it mysterious.

Players: Starbuck and Apollo 



Guidelines: 
1. Pick a player (Lee or Kara) and ask a question or challenge a dare. Label your comment as “Kara Dares Lee” or “Lee Asks Kara” etc. for better clarity. 

2. Let someone else answer your question or respond to your dare (impersonating the other player in the process). 

3. Do (1) as many times as you want. You do not have to stick to the same player and you do not have to wait for a response to the previous challenge

General rules: 
1. Stay in canon (it shouldn’t be difficult since we barely know anything about the pre-mini period) but use your own imagination and crazy head!canon ideas about the pilots and their background. Everything’s fine as long as you don’t go completely AU.

2. Your questions/answers and dares/responses could be as short as a sentence (Lee: “What’s your favourtie colour?” Kara: “Green”) or as long as a drabble or a short fic (additional banter or background information are always welcomed).

3. Only one response per each truth/dare challenge

Kara Truth

I'll start with an example (sorry for my crappy writing style, I'm not an English native speaker and I have no experience with writing). Lee's question here is a direct reference to taragel's Driving Lessons (http://taragel.livejournal.com/3492.html#cutid1) pre-mini fic.


Lee: "Remember the last time Zak was on a survival exercise and you and I ended up drunk in the sims?”

Kara: “Yeah, why? You want to dare me to a rematch on the Geminon Crawl?”

Lee: “No. It’s not like we can do it here. But I wanna ask you something about that night. When you were on my lap, did you perhaps...um…you know…?

Kara: “Did I what? Kicked your ass in a spectacular manner? I sure as hell did. Can’t believe you forgot that part.”

Lee: “Well, your ‘kicking my ass’ is open to a debate but that’s not what I wanted to know. I mean did you perhaps...enjoy our ride a bit too much?”

Kara: “Apollo, I always enjoy beating the crap out of you in or out of cockpit.”

Lee: “For frak sake Kara, that’s not what I asked and you know that!”

Kara: “So, what do you want to know…Lee?”

Lee: “All right then. So did you climax? Did you…um… have an orgasm when you were on my lap?”

Kara Dares Lee

Lee: Okay, fine, Kara. Give me a dare. (Pours more ambrosia and drinks deeply.)

Kara: (Eyeballing him with a smirk.) Come with me. (Drags Lee into the hallway outside Zak's door and leans against the wall to face him, eyes sultry.)

Lee: What are you doing, Kara? (Glances nervously at the door.)

Kara: It's a dare, Lee. What's the point if it's not daring?

Lee: Nah. (Backs away) Forget it.

Kara: (Grabs his arm and doesn't let go.) Gotta play to win, Lee...

Lee: (Flashes a look of anger... and something else.) Fine.

Kara: Kiss me.

Kara Asks Lee

"So Lee, how many lucky girls...or boys...had the pleasure to be introduced to your little Leland?"

Kara dares Lee

"I dare you to try to hit me as hard as you can, right in the face. What, you don't think I can block you? Or are you scared of how much your little wrist will hurt when I do?"

Lee: "All right." He pushes her against the wall, securely trapping her with the weight of his body. Leaning closer, he moves his hands to cup her face in his palms.

For a few seconds, they are just locked in this position, staring into each others eyes, both unable to move, their lips only inches apart... Kara forgets to breathe for a moment but then Lee turns her face gently and plants a quick kiss on her cheek.

Kara: "That's cheating!"

Lee: "It's not. A kiss is a kiss Kara. Next time you want something you have to be more specific."

Kara collapses on the couch, still laughing at Lee for streaking across the apartment complex.
"Truth or dare?" he asks, grinning as he pulls on his clothes.
She looks at him warily. The glint in his eyes says he wants her to pick dare so he can get her back. "Truth," she says slowly.
Lee turns to her, intent. She's been picking dares all evening. "Okay," he says, and takes a breath. "Truth. Why don't you ever talk about your mom?"

Lee asks Kara

"The first time we met... on the table... if Zak didn't wake up... would we? Did you want to go through with it?"

Kara asks Lee

Kara: So Lee, dare or dare?

Lee: I'll take truth, thank you very much.

Kara: Gods Lee, you're so borring. Twice in a row. It's probably illegal.

Lee: It's not against the rules and forgive me if I prefer to keep my clothes on. You seem to be unable to control your desire to get me out of my briefs so I'd rather...

Kara: ...OK, OK. Truth it is. Why didn't you tell your girlfriend that we run together every morning?

Lee: Why didn't you tell Zak?

Kara: My turn, my question or do you need me to recite the rules to you?

Lee leans a little too close. "I'd rather not risk losing the opportunity to see you sweaty and in your bra on a daily basis." He sees her eyes widen. "Truth or dare, Kara?"

She was not drunk enough for this question, but at least she'd made him work for it.
Stalling, she moved into his personal space and slid her hand along his cheek.

"Oh, dear, dear Leland," she scolded, shaking her head and looking into his eyes, "If you can't tell? There's nothing I can do for you. It's no wonder you can't keep a girl around!" she lightly smacked his cheek and laughed hard and loud, praying redirection would work to her advantage.

Incredulously, eyes wide open and huffing almost a laugh, he sat up straight, "Oh, believe me, Starbuck, I have no complaints in that department, but I do wonder if you've got the balls to admit that I...that you..." and at that, his bravado seemed to fizzle. She grinned.

"That you made me come with your stupendous flying skills?" She laughed to cover a shudder. "Dear me, as if you could! If I had an orgasm every time I saw some amazing flying, it would be me and my bird forever!" she doubled over in haughty laughter, hoping he'd give up.

"Fine, Kara," he got back in her face, pausing long enough for the laughter to die on her tongue, "but I know what I felt that night..."

Lee to Kara (Truth)

Kara considered the question for a second before answering, "Hmmm, I'll go with... truth."

Lee's eyes widened for a second; he hadn't been expecting Kara to say truth. All of the dares that he had stockpiled were suddenly useless, and he was left floundering about, trying to come up with some sort of question to ask her.

Lee's eyes focused on her arm, resting on the table. He caught a glimpse of the tattoo that had always piqued his curiosity, and suddenly knew exactly what he was going to ask. He grasped her right forearm, turning it gently, so that the tattoo was completely exposed. His fingers traced lightly over the Old Libran script. Bona fiscalia. Public property.

"Why did you have 'public property' tattooed onto your arm, Kara?"

She stared down at his fingers as they ran over the lettering. When she answered, her voice was distant. "My mom's parents were from Gemenon. They believe there that children are their parents' property. She did what she wanted, but she believed it, too. Used to tell me--used to act like I had to do exactly what she wanted." She shrugs, meeting his eyes with a trace of old defiance. "I wanted to show her that I didn't."
Lee nodded, smiling grimly at her story but quietly glad she'd shared it.
"Okay," Kara said, brightening again as she pulled her arm free of his grip. "Your turn, Leland. Truth or dare?"
He shrugged, figured he should return the favor, let Kara in a little. "Truth," he said firmly, reaching for his beer.
Kara cackled and Lee gave her a wary look before drinking. "Alright," she said. "What's this business about you being a girlfriend stealer, hmm?"

I love this response. Thank you. It's so Kara-like to fence with Lee and mock him in order to divert his attention elsewhere.

Kara didn't let him finish the sentence. Instead, she moved even closer and whispered in his ear, "I dare you to make me feel that way now", her voice dangerously low and husky. "Lee?", she added after a short pause, her finger tracing a random pattern on his cheek. Lee didn't utter a single word and when Kara moved her head to get a better look at him, the absolutely stunned expression on his face made her lips curl into a half-smile and her eyes glow with the anticipation of victory. She sat upright and added in a matter-of-fact way, "You have two minutes!."
