I assume his suit is supposed to be airtight since a little tear was depleting his oxygen supply, but yes, it hardly seems airtight.
Yeah, the whole raptor pilot thing I figure is airtight, the way they act w/ it. it is odd that only pilots wear flight suits. But I suppose it's a safety thing. or something.
