Because of Kara's photo we have a tangible piece of evidence that Kara and Lee socialized at least once between the dinner party and Zak's funeral in Kara's photo.
I like to believe that they hung out more than that once and that Lee, Kara, and Zak were buddies, maybe even a close group. Because I want that if I can't have Academy-shenanigans.
I've also wondered if Lee and Kara's friendship was forged AFTER Zak's death. We don't have a super explicit timeline for that two-ish years, perhaps two grieving friends forged a (platonic or otherwise) bond then?
