DPP: 3 Wishes

Kara and Lee are on Kobol, sorting through the debris in the Tomb of Athena among all the broken statues. Lee finds a strangely shaped metal object with an inscription on it. The inscription is covered in centuries of dirt, so he picks it up and tries to wipe it away. All of a sudden, a strange light starts to come out of the object.

"What the frak did you just do?" Kara accuses.

Suddenly, the light and smoke materializes into...



The genie grants Kara and Lee three wishes. They decide to split them. Kara gets one, Lee gets one, and they have to agree on the last one. What do they wish.

Aladdin rules apply:
No wishing for more wishes.
No making anyone fall in love.
No bringing anyone back from the dead.

Ooh I love this one! Do they go for the personal? Then I think the mutual wish should be: I wish I met you first.

Could they wish the cylons disappeared? Or that the colonies had never been bombed? (Although without all the people who died there, that'd be weird.) Would they just wish to find Earth immediately?

~ I think Kara would wish for the Caprica rescue and destruction of the Farms.
~ Lee would wish for the Cylons to go poof (considering they just shot his dad and all - though he might at this point allow Athena to live)
~ And I think they could both agree to wish for the jump coordinates to Earth!

Joint: the cylons never existed

(I want to write something that would push them towards each other, but in the end, neither of them are selfish enough to want something for themselves. *sigh* I'll have to leave it up to fate. And not RDM's fate.)

Ok, set during tomb of Athena... I'm gonna assume we also can't change the past.

Kara's wish:
Make Caprica habitable again. (Then there's no need for them to find/search for Earth.)

Lee's wish:
Wipe out the Cylons. (I was just going to say make them mortal so they could be killed, but at this point he still really doesn't trusts Sharon so he wouldn't care if she died or not.)

Both:
I'd like to think they'd both agree to set the Genie free in the end. :P But assuming they didn't think of that or it's not possible for some reason... Get a list of habitable worlds coordinates - just in case. ;)

- ok genie, the stellar map was cool, but now I want the Earth's coordinates... and just in case there is more than one Earth give us the good one. - Kara says, hands on her hips.
- smart girl - the genie snaps his finger and a small piece of paper with a sequence of numbers appears on Kara's hand.
- you will like this green planet, trust me. it's your turn Lee what do you want? - the genie asks
- hmm I want, I want that you destroy all... - Lee stops and shakes his head - no wait, what I want is no more war with the cylons -
- good boy - the genie snaps his fingers. apparently nothing happens. Kara and Lee look at him - trust me, I did it. ok, what about the third one? -
Lee looks at Kara - any idea? -
- what about strawberry ice-cream, a lot of strawberry ice-cream? -
- what? wait wait, we can wish almost everything and you ask for ice-cream? -
- I like it -
- what about justice, a future with justice -
- what the hell Lee, it doesn't mean anything, who decide what is right and what is not -
- ok, maybe you are, right. what about no more wars? -
- ever? I'm a soldier, give me some hope for the future -
- you are not serious, are you? -
- hey, we already used two wishes for the big deals, what about something simpler, something just nice? -
Lee thinks a little - I would like to explore the new Earth, with you -
- explore? -
- yes, you know just you and me, walking around with only our backpacks -
- I don't know, sounds boring... - says Kara
- I don't want to interrupt you - says the genie - but you don't need to use a wish for that, little boyscout. once you arrived on Earth you can do whatever you want... actually I think that strawberry ice-cream was a better choice - and he smirks at Kara

after almost two hours of discussion Lee is exhausted.
- ok Kara you win, ice-cream is ok for me -
- you know Lee, I think that we should leave this wish to your father -
Lee looks at her and after a few seconds says - are you sure? -
- yeah, we already had ours. he deserves to be happy -
Lee nods and smiles - I love you Kara. no take backs - and kisses her.
she kisses him back.

You know I've never felt that I had my head around Kara all that much, and sometimes I'm not even sure about Lee. Somehow I see their individual wishes as very much the same only tailored to each of them.

For Kara I think it would be to see her destiny clearly. Then she could decide whether or not she wanted to follow it.

For Lee it would be the certainty that their love was the best thing for the both of them so that he could choose to pursue it without any doubts.

Their joint wish would be for all of the others, that they would each be happy with whatever they chose in life.

Oh, freeing the genie! What an excellent idea - always nice not to get so caught up in your own situation that you overlook the injustice that others are suffering along the way. Kudos.

well, i missed this earlier.

so, except what was said already - i agree with pretty much everything except the fact that i strongly believe that the part about
Bill getting better would be a common wish. so i'm going (or at least trying) for something a little different

Kara - better nuggets to train
Lee - no more annoying Baltar
L&K - some free time.
