no_takebacks | DPP: All AU, All the time

Good day to you all, today's post is a little bit on the late side because public transort in England is enough to frequently make you want to kill yourself. But on to happier things :)

Yesterday we talked about our musical inspiration when it comes to writing pilots fic, I have started compiling a new playlist of all your favourites, they were most excellent.

Today's show is slightly different.

I have a slight problem, I suspect that some of you share it, in that I SEE PILOTS EVERYWHERE! So today I thought we could talk about the other films/tv shows/books that you all think are PERFECT for Pilots.What do you want to see as a crossover? What stories would be made better with Kara and Lee as the main characters?

Along with the strange melding of the two zany genius brains of

nazkey that takes the form of First Impressions which is a Pride and Prejudice crossover that doesn't have any cylons in it, but is wacky and wonderful anyway.

And then there's a whole host of stuff that

kag523 graciously said I could mine from her stores for your inspiration, there are no accompanying fics for these, but you could always fix that if you liked ;)

Hopefully that's enough to keep everyone going! I have to go have a shower but I shall be back with some thoughts of my own, and possibly some incredibly cracked out manips. Have fun!

Not sure I want to take on something as long as Ice!Pilots again, but been kicking around the idea of a While You Were Sleeping crossover. Kara as the subway worker (probably not a token taker, something a bit more interesting) with no family who saves poor Zak from death, but while he's in a coma she falls for the wacky family (yes they'd have to change a bit) and then in comes older brother Lee, who has daddy/job issues... and is very very skeptical of her until she wins him over... ;)

is it wrong that i can actually see that? well, with the necessary adjustments but still.... imo, the family part would be really tricky but the rest can totally work. maybe if instead of family would be the crew? *just thinking out loud*

Ellen Tigh as slightly-crazy grandma for starters?

I am not that fond of the Tighs, so probably no.

Hm, I'm now struggling to think of any more older women (assuming the president would be mother?)

... actually, any older people in BSG were something of a rarity, now I come to think of it.

And they weren't that fun. Maybe Cottle. I think HowlinchickHowl suggested him.

I love this While You Were Sleeping idea, but then I really quite like While You Were Sleeping ;) I'd love to see the suspicious Lee trying to suss out if Kara really is who she says she is :)

Heee! See I was gonna mention this, but I didn't want to put you under that kind of pressure. But now that you've mentioned it it's fair game! (Because DPP is subject to the same rules as a court of law)

I love love LOVE this idea :) Even if you don't do the whole thing, even if you just write the LEANING scene, it will make me the happiest! Just...you know...give it a go...you might enjoy it :)

I may...someday. I would definitely try to scale it down so it was like a 3-5 chapter fic tops.

Ohhhmygod, I love that movie so much (and that whole mistaken identity trope in general) and I'm almost surprised I've never thought of this. So much potential for hilarious awkwardness.

Oh, I'd love to read that. Write it , pleaaaaase!
