DPP: NEW Hints: Fun and Games: Pilots in One Word, Season 1

Hiya Shipper Nation!! Thanks for the great turn-out at yesterday's friending meme. Please continue to drop by the party over there. The punch and pie runneth over and we have awesome people in this fandom.

Today I've got a matching game planned.

We have discussed how well we know our pilots. We have a familiarity with our favorite scenes and many of us could quote large portions of Kara/Lee banter. Let's see how well we can identify scenes and episodes based on just one word.

Each clue word has been spoken by either Kara or Lee at some point during Season One (mini included). I have tried to find words that are specific to one episode from the season but I cannot guarantee that there won't be multiple episodes (and thus multiple answers) for a given word. The goal is to take the words provided and match them to the episodes. There is exactly one word per episode listed currently. However, I will add more words for any episodes that seem troublesome throughout the day. I'll also come by throughout the day to answer questions and confirm answers as needed. If you guys go super fast, I have S2 ready as well.

(Example: For S3, the first word list might contain "rubbed" for UB/UBex as in "rubbed us both the wrong way". However, if no one matched them by midday, I might add "apple cart" to "rubbed" to make the connection more obvious.)

***Flaws, smarts, and dilemma were the only ones from the first list that no one has figured out yet, so I will add some context.  "Flaws" is Kara to Tigh, "Smarts" is Lee to Kara, "Dilemma" is Kara and your hint is that if I tell you to whom it was said, you will all get it immediately.***

Good start, bb! I love that you got some of my faves like "zip" and "been"! (That "been" always makes me squee. I think it's b/c JB so rarely screws up that it's truly adorable when he does.)

Good test taking skills, but I dunno...it might be cheating...I think some of my Kara-ness might be leaking into your Lee-ness. ;) (And I know the reverse is true...you are SO bringing out Lee aspects of me.)

Wow, this one is tough. I feel pretty sure that "fireworks" is Hand of God, though I also feel that "super-secret" fits Hand of God, too. "Been" is definitely Act of Contrition. "Sparring" is Kobol's Last Gleaming 1. "Pomp" is Water. I think "mark" is the Olympic Carrier scene in 33. Maybe "soft seal" is Bastille Day, when the Kara and the cavalry attach their ship to the Astral Queen? That's about all I got...I'll have to wait to hear the truth behind the mysterious zip smarts solo flaws receipt! :)

Good job!! Fireworks, been, sparring, pomp, and mark are all correct. I love that you're the first one to identify "pomp". That seemingly little tidbit from Lee went a long way in defining his character and his relationships with A and R. :)

Ha! I was thinking of smarts as intellectual smarts, but thanks to your context hint, I've got it now :) It's Six Degrees of Separation ("Your pain is my entertainment. Your crutches of death, sir. Use them wisely." Has he ever been more adorable?) And I think the Kara/Tigh discussion about their personal and professional flaws is in Bastille Day?

Why am I drawing a blank on dilemma? I guess I'll guess "Flesh and Bone," since that's the only time she talks to Leoben this season, and I vaguely recall her taunting him about turning off his pain and proving he's not human...

Six Degrees was difficult b/c there just isn't that much pilots!action. My third word clue was going to be "crutches", but obviously it's no fun to start with that one. I didn't realize the difficulty with "smarts" until after I posted, but you guys did great with it.

Honestly, I had to check Lee's exact wording for that comment. I think I would have jumped to intellectual smarts as well if I'd been doing the guessing. Agreed, both Lee's amusement and Kara's indignance in that scene are adorable.

Bastille Day was tricky because many of the useful words (election, vote, sniper) are also in Colonial Day. Hence the use of the Kara/Tigh conversation even though it's not one of my favorites. (I disagree with Tigh. Kara is fine professionally. Their flaws are both mostly personal IMO.)
