DPP: Weekend Prompt-a-thon

It's the weekend, so an easy one to wind up the week! Leave a prompt! Get a fic (hopefully!) :)

If you want more direction, here's a theme: Fall. Fall's my favorite time of year, but sadly they didn't have seasons on Galactica. Write an AU maybe--piles of leaves, hot chocolate, sweaters, football games, trick or treating... Enjoy!

I'm sorry if sound stupid, but during what season was this picture taken? I saw it before I watched season 4, was very hopeful but the final episode broke my heart and I'm almost sure I haven't seen this moment. Thank you and sorry again!

It's an outtake from Season 1, bb - specifically, the scene where Kara fantasizes about being with Lee while she's actually with Baltar.

Yeah, that was harsh. Besides there were some pics with Kara and Lee standing together (you know, where Lee is wearing a suit) and there they seemed to be so together... I don't know. Perhaps it's the biggest tv show disappointment I ever had. I couldn't stop crying:(

I think you just described every single person in this comm, which is why we're all here **hugs** I couldn't eat or sleep properly for many days after I watched the finale, the devastation was too much.

I know that everyone here feels the same. Yet the season finale is so far from common sense I can't understand why they did it.

I don't think we ever will. I mean, that final scene of theirs is bad enough because Kara looks HEARTBROKEN to be leaving him, she's near tears despite insisting that she feels good....it's like nothing I saw on my screen squares up with what the writers/actors say about it. Kara was so cheated, I just can't.

The only way for me to save my sanity is to believe with the fervour of a crazy that Lee finally got to see Kara on 'the other side' like she promised in Maelstrom, once his life on Earth is over.

After I watched the last episode I started reading fanfic like crazy. And there was one that really helped me to get hope. It was about Lee knowing that one day Kara would come home and she did.

yes, good fanfic can help a lot, though the balance they restore is a fragile one and I tend to be unable to ignore canon even if I completely hate it. But in all my years in fandom, the BSG lj fandom has the best quality of fic I've ever seen and it's amazing just how much of a difference that can make.

was it mintenergy's Signal Fire, by any chance? I really like fic that doesn't change canon/the poof, but finds a way to make it right anyway.

I'm sorry, I think it was something different. And the worst thing I don't know how to find it. It was really short. Lee was devastated to loose Kara. He decided to build a house. And in some time he got a slight feeling, a hint that something was going to change. And since then the feeling grew stronger until once it was as convincing as it could get and Lee knew that Kara would return to him.
It was sooo convincing it gave me some peace.

That fic fix is what let me be able to ...accept and not be physically effected. It is because it was cannon and yet the extension beyond felt real and could have been the REAL ending. Such an awesome fiction... One of my favs
