Pilots Bingo: Pre-Mini and Post-Finale
Lots of amazing bingos continue to roll through the door at
no_takebacks. WOW! Please stop by and read and comment. The writers would certainly appreciate your kind words!
Today, the Most Bingo banners for Season 4 go to:

PRE-MINI CARD

POST-FINALE CARD

THE TWIST IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT
For today's cards, you must write drabbles that occur before or after the show proper. For an extra challenge, swap the prompts and write post-finale drabbles using the pre-mini prompts. Hard, but fun!
BUT
All drabbles must stay within the BSG universe (e.g., would include cylons, Twelve Colonies, etc.). Enjoy and Good Luck!
PRIZES UPDATE
Blackouts will receive a banner, a drabble, and five icons. Get it going, shippers!
The Jackpot winner for the entire contest (most bingos over the seven days) will receive either a new header for their LJ or a ficlet. (One each if there's a tie.)
Also, thanks for numbering your bingos yesterday. It helps not to have to count. Like ever. Keep up the good work (and the numbering).
TODAY IS NOT THE LAST DAY!!!!
There will be more cards on Saturday and Sunday. Remember that blackouts can occur on any card for any of the previous days. All cards remain active, but bingos for previous days don't count towards the daily Most Bingos contests. All bingos are counted for the Jackpot prize! :)

Is this the last one or will there be other cards tomorrow or Sunday? If it's the last one, does it end at 3 am ET or go the whole weekend?
When you say no AU, you literally mean just no our Earth/alternate universe right? Can it invalidate canon? Because those could be different... (i.e. If I want Zak to break up with Kara and live and end up with Cally, while she and Lee have their happy ever after...that's okay right?)

And yes, More bingo cards this weekend. And blackouts can happen on old cards, too.

Embolalia #1 (mini-series)
He doesn’t want to see her. He doesn’t. Or that’s what Lee tells himself. He flies into Caprica City instead of Delphi, shrugs Zak off with an explanation about only having time to visit Carolanne.
He’s picking up wine for his mother at the liquor store when suddenly there she is: Kara Thrace, in the flesh, eyes wide and lips parted, staring at him as if she’s just as terrified and attracted by his presence as he is by hers. They stand transfixed, remembering that night and all their fantasies since.
“Oh!” Zak suddenly appears. “Great, let’s head to mom’s!”
Carolanne, PG
Zak vaults up the steps to find Carolanne while Kara and Lee hang back, getting out the wine and food they’ve brought.
“What’s she like?” Kara asks suddenly.
Lee glances at her, realizes that not all of Kara’s nervousness is about him. “She’s...had a hard life.” He sees Kara flinch, wonders whether she’s used the phrase herself. “And she wasn’t always the world’s greatest mom. She’ll be polite to you, though. She likes it when we bring girls home.”
Kara nods once, casts a wary glance toward the house.
“Don’t worry,” Lee say impulsively. “I’ll look out for you.”
Transfer, PG
“So are you going to transfer to Raptors or not?” Carolanne asks Zak imperiously halfway through dinner.
Lee raises his eyebrows at Kara and she shrugs.
“That’s gonna be up to Kara, Mom,” Zak grins. “But you know what Dad would--”
Carolanne bursts into a harangue about Bill Adama and Zak rushes to calm her.
Meanwhile, Kara’s bare ankle brushes Lee’s under the table and they both freeze, eyes locked. Their focus narrows down to these two points of contact.
Until dinner ends, neither pulls away. It’s a constant reminder that they have a secret together, and a simmering connection.
Law School, PG-13
“So for the record you’re still in the Fleet,” Kara teases as they put dishes away.
Lee shrugs. “Thinking about law school, though.”
She smirks. “You as a lawyer? You’d have to learn a few things about breaking rules, Lee.”
He puts a pot down, gazes at her intently. “Anything you could teach me?”
Her mouth is suddenly dry. “Yeah.” She glances toward the living room; they can hear Zak and Carolanne. She steps close to Lee, rests her hands on his chest. “This.” She kisses him, presses into him as he wraps his arms around her. Gods, it’s perfect.
FTL, NC-17
“I’m gonna show Kara that FTL I built,” Lee mutters as they pass the livingroom.
“He was such a nerd!” Zak proclaims, but he’s ignored.
In Lee’s old room he pulls Kara close, kisses her hard. Their lips are eager, bruising; they’ve been imagining this for months.
“Quickly,” Kara gasps, stripping down.
Lee strips, too, pauses to stare until Kara reaches for him. They fall onto the narrow bed, and Lee slides into her body, slick and tight and hot. Kara bites his shoulder and Lee stifles a groan. He kisses her, silencing their cries as they fly toward ecstasy.

Bingo 1! (From yesterday's card)
For a week, Lee manages to avoid it putting it up. He makes all his routes on the ship to make a clear berth of the hall as much as possible. But, one day he’s walking the halls, discussing pilot rotations when he looks up to see the memorial wall to his right. It’s been seven days since his wife died in surgery. Seven days since Kara was reunited with her husband. Seven days since he sent his wife out on a rescue mission only to be shot along the way. He’s not ready to put her picture up yet.
Anger, i will hit a cripple, PG
“What the frak is your problem?” She’s pissed because he keeps chewing her out during the pilot briefings.
“You are.” He hates her. He hates her for getting herself shot down, when she’s supposed to be an amazing pilot. Hates her husband for making him choose between their wives. Hates that Sam gets his wife back while he gets the guilt of killing his own.
“You need to get a grip.” She shoves her face in his.
“I will hit a cripple.” He shoves her out of his way. He hates that he’s still careful to avoid her bandaged hands.
Bargaining, frak space, R
“Stop avoiding me.”
“I’m not.”
Actually, he has been, but she’s finally managed to corner him and now he’s pushing his hand between her legs. She moves to unfasten his pants but he pulls her hands together and holds them above her head. She tries to kiss his lips but he moves his face into her neck.
“Frak! Let me do something.”
“No,” he whispers.
It’s then she realizes that he’s been punishing himself. He’s seeking absolution but the one person he wants it from, he can’t get it. It makes her want to cry a little when she comes.
Depression, i could do this all day, PG
Everyone had noticed Lee’s depression, but didn’t know what to do. Kara’s solution was to talk incessantly about his attributes.
“Stop it.”
“No.”
“Please leave me alone.”
Taking a deep breath, Kara finally mentioned Dee. “She said you were a good husband, a good man. That you put everyone else’s needs before yours.”
Long silence. “She said all that with a bullet wound in her stomach?”
“Morpha makes you chatty. I told her you wouldn’t cheat. Too honorable or some crap. She laughed.”
“Are you ever going to run out of things to say?”
“I could do this all day.”
Acceptance, i’m done here, PG
Kara found Lee at the last place she expected, standing at the memorial wall. She approached him slowly to see him staring at Dee’s photo.
“You put it up?”
He turned to look at her and gives her a small smile, “Yeah. It was about time.”
“It’s a good picture.”
“She looks happy. I think she was happy.”
“Yeah.” Unsure where she fit in at this moment, she asked, “You want me to leave you alone here for a bit?”
He grabbed hold of her hand and with a small shake of his head, he said, “No, I’m done here.”

Bingo! #1
They lay beneath the stars they'd given up, just watching, remembering the path that led them to this place.
"Remember when you kissed me," she asked, "after I came back from Caprica?"
He smiled wistfully at the memory. "Yeah."
"And when you said you loved me?"
He chuckled recalling her reaction, "Yup, that too. Still do."
"And when you said you'd thought about having a wife and kids and a porch swing?"
Leaning to press his head to hers, he whispered, "I remember everything."
"How about when I told you that you were gonna be a daddy?" she whispered back, her voice shy.
All he saw was stars.
***
Sky, PG-13
He caught her looking to the sky sometimes. Still, after all these years. She missed the stars. Her real home was among them, flying free. He knew it, but she'd stayed for him. Because he needed her.
Like so many other nights, he found her looking up. He gently reached for her waist.
"I'm sorry I took you from there."
Turning serenely, she just smiled. "You didn't take me from anywhere, Lee. I choose to stay. If I was up there, I'd be looking down here and wishing."
"Besides," she grinned, pushing him down. "There are other ways to fly."
***
Hiking, NC-17
They were supposed to be taking a hiking expedition into the mountains to map the terrain and find some much-needed water reserves. They were supposed to be engaged in a very important settlement recon mission.
But instead they were frakking. Repeatedly. A lot.
And currently she had his head locked between her thighs in the throes of a particularly violent orgasm.
Collapsing into the soft grass, she gasped. "Gods Lee, if we don't find some water soon, I'm not gonna survive another one of those."
Wiping his mouth, he leaned back onto his heels. "Well," he drawled sexily, "if your thirsty..."
***
Childbirth, PG-13
Without the luxury of birth control, Lee had Kara good and knocked up within 3 months on Earth. She was not an easy patient. But even her constant vitriol about his decision to forgo technology and medicine couldn't diminish his joy at her condition. Besides, Cottle was still close enough to deliver her. Until he wasn't. She was two weeks early and he was off tending to some other the other dozen pregnant women. So they did it together. Alone.
She was not pleased.
"I frakking hate you, Lee Adama!" She cursed through the pain.
He still couldn't stop smiling.
***
Exploration, PG-13
He explored the slopes and ridges of the new terrain with vigor. He'd always been an explorer. And now that he had the time and freedom, he reveled in each discovery.
This day, he slipped into a lush dewy valley in awe of its beauty in the morning sun.
"Lee!" She reprimanded, groggily. "Stop that! It tickles!"
"Stow it, you!" He grinned. "I'm exploring here."
As she stretched away the last vestiges of sleep, he found even more to learn, new angles, exciting curves.
"Well, explore somewhere else." She begged, giggling as his fingertips roamed her sensitive skin. "That terrain is still asleep."

Embolalia #2 (mini-series)
It’s been weeks since one of their late-night, ambrosia-fueled, gloriously hot fraks and Lee hasn’t heard a word from Kara. He tries not to care, to accept that she’s his brother’s girlfriend and he has no claim on her.
Then Zak announces, heart-broken, that Kara’s dumped him and resigned as a flight instructor. Lee knows at once that something’s wrong.
He pounds on her door, shouting, for nearly an hour, but Kara doesn’t answer. Eventually he sinks to the floor, waits in silence.
Some time near midnight, she opens the door, looks at him tearfully and speaks. “Lee, I’m pregnant.”
War College, PG
“What’s your plan?” Lee asks delicately, watching as Kara pours a glass of ambrosia and another of water.
“I’m transferring to War College,” she says, passing him the ambrosia. “It’s the birth control implant that failed, not me, so the Fleet can’t really penalize me.” She crosses her arms. “And my Commander seems to think that I’d be a good strategist with the right training.” Through all of this she doesn’t meet his eyes.
“You’re keeping it?” Lee asks.
Kara finally looks up, looks terrified. “Abortion is a sin, Lee.”
He waits.
“And I couldn’t do that to our child.”
FRAK SPACE, NC-17
Kara’s fear and knowing she’s having his baby drive Lee to the same response: he pulls her tightly against him, stroking her hair, kissing her temple.
Her tension eases, and Kara meets his eyes, smiles.
Lee kisses her tenderly, but their passion rapidly escalates until Kara is on the table, her legs around Lee’s hips as he aligns them.
“This is what got us in trouble,” she murmurs, then whimpers as he plunges into her.
“Yeah, but it’s too late for more, right?” he teases.
A key clicks in the lock and they turn, Lee clutching Kara close.
It’s Zak.
Finals, PG-13
Zak stares at them as Lee and Kara separate, fumble back into their clothes.
“I wanted to tell you I passed my final flight test,” Zak finally says flatly. “I thought maybe you’d want to celebrate, want to...” His gaze flickers over both of them as if he doesn’t quite understand.
“Zak,” Kara finally says, her voice aching with apology.
“No.” He shakes his head sharply. “No.” He leaves, slamming the door.
Lee hesitates, then hugs Kara close. She’s trembling with emotions: guilt, shame, regret over Zak’s pain. Lee’s ashamed but elated that at least for now, she’s chosen him.
Call Sign, PG
Lee wakes alone. He finds Kara on the balcony, looking at the stars.
“Hey, Starbuck.” He settles beside her.
She turns toward him slowly. “I’m not Starbuck anymore. I’m not a pilot.”
He’s caught by her profound sadness. “You can fly again once the baby comes,” he reminds her.
Kara shakes her head. “What if I crashed? She’d be alone.” She looks away, whispers, “I hope I don’t resent her for it.”
Lee takes her hand. “Well, you won’t crash. And besides, I told you. I’m resigning.” He sees the sudden hope in her eyes. “We’ll do this together, Kara.”

Bingo! #2
They all knew; who was fraking who, who pretended not to notice, who minded, who didn't.
Zak had never been one to keep his favorite things all to himself and as long as he didn't lose them altogether, he was alright with sharing.
Lee wasn't. He boiled inside every time has saw Zak's arm reach for her. He'd take it out on her body later. He hated himself, and them a little more each day.
Kara didn't understand why it mattered. The lies. The pretense.
She decided that tonight, it was time to stop pretending. It was all just politics, anyways.
***
Zak, PG-13
She had fallen harder than she expected with him. Just this dumb nugget trying to get into her pants. Like so many others. It surprised her how much he won her over. He was always just Zak. Sweet and gentle and giving and easy. Just Zak. In the morning, when he made her eggs. In class, when he slipped her silly love notes. In the evenings, when they laughed and played and drank. She never hurt with him. Never cried. He was always just Zak.
Except now, when they went to bed, when she closed her eyes, he was always Lee.
***
Caprica City, PG-13
It was a big city. Plenty of dark corners. Lots of hidden places. It offered no end of spots for clandestine deeds. They were thankful for that because clandestine deeds were what they did best.
They couldn't stop. They'd both conceded that stopping was impossible. They were too entangled to dream of stopping. But Zak couldn't know. Ever. No matter the cost. They'd hide in corners. Forever, if needed.
Remembering now how that forever crashed when Zak did, she shakes her head in shame.
Afterwards, they'd agreed their penance would be to end it. It had suddenly become much more possible.
***
Drinking Games, R
Drinking Games were too dangerous after that first night. They begged off as often as they could, but Zak pushed. Eventually they gave in. Zak was good at convincing and they didn't really want to object anyway.
By the time they started 'I Never', they were all a mess of sloppy limbs and rosy faces. Zak seemed to be drinking with even more gusto than usual and looking back she understood why.
It had only took two rounds of tame questions before Zak turned to Lee.
"I've never tried to frak my brother's girlfriend while he slept a few feet away."
***
Pyramid, R
That night, he'll berate himself for it. But right now, he isn't sorry. Zak asked him to play, after all. He had tried to stay away. But when the pickup game was offered, he couldn't decline. He'd heard rumors of her Pyramid skills. When she'd joked that if he played any stiffer she'd start believing Zak's jokes about him needing to get laid, he couldn't help invading her space and lightly leaning his hips to hers. Her gasp echoed in his ears.
"Believe me, Kara. I could get stiffer."
She was still blushing when someone snapped their picture a moment later.

Finding Her Way, Bingo #1 (post-finale)
For weeks after his father’s death, Lee works himself ragged, digging a well and helping Karl build a chimney on his house. It was grueling work that leaves his hands and back aching.
“When do you think she’ll be back?” Karl asks as they slide the keystone into place in the center of the narrow hearth.
“When she’s ready, I suppose,” Lee says, tightlipped and still reeling from Kara’s decision to leave them all within a few days of landing on their new home.
Lee frowns, doubt flickering in his mind. “But then, she’s never been one to stick around.”
***
Cabin, PG
Lee works on their cabin every day. With the help of Karl and Saul, they get it into shape, insulating it for the winter that will eventually come. Now the days are warm and when the house is all done, he sits on a flat-hewn log and waits.
“Ole Starbuck never did do what was expected of her, did she?” Saul asks, tossing back some of Lee’s homemade ale.
“She did a hell of a lot for all of us, Saul. If she wants time, she can have it.” Part of him believes the words. Mostly he just misses her.
***
Fruit and Nuts, PG
It’s another couple of weeks before Kara returns, carrying a small pack, her hair nearly white from the sun. She’s grinning and seems relaxed and happy. Without him. He smiles a little and keeps stacking logs along the side of the cabin.
“Why’d you come back?” he asks casually, his heart pounding.
“Eh, got sick of eating fruit and nuts,” she says, dropping her pack, surveying his work.
“Cabin looks good, Lee. It’s nice to be home.”
He stops stacking and takes a breath before turning. “I hope you’ll stay this time.”
She steps close and kisses him. “I will.”
***
Last Raptor, PG
“I had some shit to sort out, okay? I don’t really want to talk about it.”
“Two months, Kara. How do I know you’re not going to leave again?” His voice is hurt and wary. “Just tell me where you went.”
She breathes deep, holds it for a second. “I took the last raptor off planet. Floated around for a while. I needed to sort out my head, get ready for the next step.”
“What step?” He wants to hope.
“Being a family.” She takes his hand and puts it on her stomach. His eyes grow wide and she nods.
***
Childbirth, PG
Snow reaches the middle of the door when the baby decides to come. Lee rushes out, his face tight with anxiety and hikes the two miles to Sharon. After two kids, she’s the midwife for their small community.
Later, she says the birth was pretty easy, but Lee’s a wreck. Seeing her in that much pain made him feel ill.
It all drains away when he sees his tiny daughter suckling at Kara’s breast. She smiles tiredly and Lee touches them both, his face wet with tears. All of the waiting and longing are over.
He has his family now.

One
His life is wide open. Captain Adama has resigned his commission, and Lee Adama starts law school in six weeks. He thinks he’s floating away from his commander’s office so much weight has been lifted off his shoulders. Not even the family dinner looming in his future can get him down.
So Lee’s almost skipping as he rounds the corner leaving the Delphi Air Strip behind him and sees her. A quirky blonde in tanks and tags, like a pilot in the summer Caprican sun. She’s muttering to herself, fists clenched in anger or frustration. Doesn’t matter. He’s in love.
Admit It, scattered, PG
Focus, Thrace. Frakkin’ focus. It repeats in her brain or tries to. Other things keep popping up. Well, one very distracting thing, but it spirals.
Him. Their date. How long it’s been since she went on a proper date. Kara Thrace doesn’t date. She flirts. She fraks. She doesn’t date ex-officers who are in law school. She’s in way over her head and has a class full of green as grass nuggets waiting for her in basics flight.
Scanning down the rolls, she recognizes the second name, Adama. She should transfer him. Conflict of interest if she’s dating his brother.
Break Through, frak space, R
Lee’s shirtless on her couch, and Kara’s feeling more comfortable with every moment. A wicked smirk crossed her mouth. Her hips roll, grinding her wet panties against his still denim covered erection. Lee groans and sucks her nipple through the black lace of her bra. The combination of rough fabric and his tongue, her engorged clit and his bugling crotch, a stayed evening and barely bridled sexual tension… it’s all about to explode. Her lips part. Her breathe hitches. “Lee. Oh, gods,” keens from her throat, high and needful. She doesn’t think she’s ever come with her clothes still on.
Truth, fruit and nuts, PG
She throws the whole bag of trail mix at his head and stomps down the path, back towards her truck. Lee’s not sure what he did, exactly. They’ve been dating for three months. Isn’t commitment the next step?
He runs after her. As much because he doesn’t want to be stranded in the hills north of Delphi as anything else. “Kara! Wait up!” he calls.
She’s leans against the truck, tracing patterns on the asphalt with her toe. Lee slams into the door and does look at her when he speaks. “It’s true though.”
“I know. I love you too.”
Homeward Bound, wandering, R
Her mother used to call her horrible names and break her bones. She believed she deserved the abuse for far too long. She avoided and hid because Kara Thrace would never be worth anything let alone this.
Lee’s curled behind her, like she’s one of the pretty girls. Kara smiles and wiggles closer to him. She feels him wake in stages. First his cock hardens against her ass. Then his fingers creep down her stomach, finding her wet and waiting. Heat stokes los in her belly. They groan together. With one sure move he rolls her over and slides home.

Bingo #1: Sometimes the End is Actually the Beginning
On the verdant planet, Kara can’t shake her déjà vu. It’s not for the physical place. The tomb on Kobol was ages ago and the ghost memories from her missing time—six hours? two months?— have faded.
Instead, it reminds her of New Caprica. Cylons and humans mingle. A tent city is erected. Soon they talk of opening a school.
When Lee suggests she teach, Kara scoffs at him. Zak and Kat and all the pilots she taught fill her head. She remembers Laura too.
Later, when the academy opens, Kara is the first one there. They won’t be forgotten.
***
Planned Parenthood, Carolanne, PG-13
The pregnancy was not a surprise.
They’d asked Cottle first, unsure it could even happen considering Kara’s…past. He’d run the tests, given them the go-ahead, even suggested fertility-enhancing herbs.
“I think the kids at school are making you go soft, Starbuck,” Lee had teased on the way home, impossibly happy.
Kara’d just laughed and winked. “We’ll see who’s going soft when we get home, Apollo.”
He swears that’s the night they conceived her.
When they found out, they both cried.
They still have doubts sometimes. He thinks of his mother and hers, vows they’ll do better.
It won’t be hard.
***
First Time, Frak space, NC-17
It’s their first time since the baby came. Before actually, since Kara had been on bedrest the last three months of her pregnancy. (Lee still had the scars to prove it.)
Now he can’t stop staring and touching, his hands mapping her body like undiscovered territory. In wonder, Lee’s palms smooth the rounder swell of her hips, fingers cradle breasts heavy with milk, thumbs trace the pale tracks on her abdomen.
He lingers until Kara urges him on. “Gods, Lee, enough with the foreplay!” she hisses.
He thrusts inside on command, in full agreement. They’ve waited long enough for this.
***
War is Easier, Sims, PG
They’ve been pacing all night, trying to quiet their teething toddler’s screams. It’s been weeks like this. Lee hasn’t felt this tired since the early days of the war.
Their daughter is inconsolable, tears coursing down her chubby cheeks, and Lee wants to cry too. He sings her every military cadence he can remember. Kara plays peek-a-boo till her arms are sore. Nothing works.
Strangely, it reminds him of the Academy, those early days when he’d clamber into the sims, bursting to try new ways to blow raiders out of the sky.
He wishes there’d been a sim for parenting.
***
Winning, Pyramid, PG
At ten years old, Thea Thrace-Adama is the spitting image of her mother, but exactly like her father in temperament.
Thea’s curled up with a book from her grandfather’s library, when Kara coaxes the reluctant girl onto the pyramid court. Excitedly, she teaches her daughter how to shoot and score.
But it’s hopeless, Thea loses every game, even with Kara holding back. Hiding her disappointment, she hugs her girl, sends her back to her beloved books.
Lee knows her too well. He pulls her close, hands drifting to Kara’s bulging stomach.
“It’s okay,” he whispers. “I think we’ve already won.”

The art of Showing Face, Politics, pg
The three of them together is like playing politics. They eye each other, looking for weaknesses always showing face. All while playing like everything is ok.
Lee wants what Zak has, but can’t bear the guilt to take it from him.
Zak has almost everything he wants but doesn’t know how to keep it or if he is good enough to earn it.
Kara has all the cards up her sleeve, but for the first time in her life she doesn’t know how to play them to get what she wants, both of them.
But she is going to loose.
-----------------------------------
Traitor, Zak, pg
No one would have ever imagined that Zak would be the one to cheat.
No one would have found out either if the girl, some waitress, would have mistakenly thought that Kara was Lee’s girlfriend instead of Zak’s.
Zak made all the excuses to Kara with Lee’s disapproving and furious glare starring him down.
She meant nothing. He was drunk with his buddies. They had just gotten serious. He would never hurt her again, promise.
I the end it was Lee that broke Zak’s nose, not the stunned and heart broken Kara. And it was Lee that walked her home.

Mending Pieces, Drinking Games, pg
Lee stayed with her the night they found out about Zak’s indiscretion. He pulled out the 85 year old ambrosia, a gift from his grandpa Joe. He wiped her tears as she silently cried.
The next night Lee and Kara went to a bar on the other side of town. They drank beer until there growing rowdiness causes some tattooed biker to make a comment about Lee’s sexuality and perverse ideas for Kara.
Lee knocks him out in one punch.
They escape in uncontrollable laughter before the cops show.
He holds her as she cried herself to sleep that night.
Moving, Caprica City, pg
Zak transfers classes. He leaves a message on Lee’s phone that she was right in leaving him. He says that he felt he never deserved her anyway, and that he knew as soon as he introduced them that Lee and Kara were “Perfect for each other.”
Zak says that he hopes Lee can make Kara as happy as she deserves to be.
Lee plays the message for Kara as she looks out his window overlooking the city and wipes a tear.
They go to dinner and have a good time. That night they share their first kiss as a couple.
Score, Pyramid, R
Two years after the failed Cylon destruction of the Colonies, Lee pulls Kara in for a heated kiss.
They celebrate their victory every night but it was close. A major dog fight and a massively damaged viper crash landing on the deck. Lee almost died that day. Months in traction and Kara at his side anytime she got leave cemented what they had.
Now every kiss, lick, touch, rub, and thrust they shared told how much they loved each other. Later as he held her close Kara twirled the ring on her finger and smiled at the title of mama.

Embolalia #3 (mini-series)
Kara stirs, squirms, hurtles out of bed and toward the bathroom as morning sickness hits.
“Are you okay?” Lee comes running.
She’s retching into the toilet. “Frak. Yeah, I’m okay.”
Lee tries to kneel beside her but there’s not enough room in the cramped bathroom. He settles for stroking her hair.
After a minute Kara stands, flushes, begins to brush her teeth.
Lee watches awkwardly. “Maybe we should move,” he finally says. “Delphi has lots--”
Kara throws down her toothbrush. “It’s nice you’re here, Lee, but seriously? This is still my frakking life.” She stalks out; he stares after her.
Flight School, PG
He doesn’t pick a fight, just gets into the passenger side of the truck when Kara’s ready to leave. She glares but doesn’t speak until they reach the flight school.
“I need to return my keys,” she finally mutters.
Lee nods, follows her out.
As they walk the grounds, Kara returns the waves of more than a few pilots and instructors--all male. Lee’s brow begins to crease.
One man, a major by his pips, gives her a leering smile and a salute, which Kara returns.
Lee stops in his tracks, anger igniting. “What the frak is going on here, Kara?”
The Major, PG-13
She turns sharply, her expression caught between shame, fear and anger all at once. “What’s your problem Adam?” Anger’s clearly winning.
Lee waves his hand at the man walking away from them. “Who the hell is that?”
Kara glances, shrugs. “Major Kennedy.”
“And you’ve frakked him,” Lee spits out.
Her eyes narrow. “How is it your business? You certainly never cared that I was cheating on Zak with you!”
Lee shakes his head. “Why should I even believe this kid is mine, Kara?”
Her mouth falls open, and he sees she’s hurt, knows he’s gone too far. Then she runs.
Sims, R
Kara races into the training center. A week ago Lee understood that she was a frak-up; she can’t suddenly change just because she got knocked up. But good, he’s gone.
“Hey!” He appears in the doorway.
Kara whirls in surprise. “Lee?”
“This fight isn’t over Kara!” he says angrily.
She shrugs. “It’s okay. You don’t have to stay.”
He grabs her by the shoulders, presses her against the simulator behind her and stares into her face. “I’m jealous. I’m not leaving.”
Kara laughs. Lee snorts. He kisses her hard, anger transmuted to lust, and takes her right there and then.
Assignment, PG-13
They drive back in silence. Kara’s throat and breasts bear the mark of Lee’s mouth; his back has bright scratches. They’re not sure if it means anything.
When they arrive, Lee borrows Kara’s computer, types out a short message and sits, staring between the screen and her, wondering if this will blow up in his face.
Eventually Kara comes over, rests her cheek against his shoulder and reads it aloud. ”I, Leland Adama, hereby turn down my reassignment to Atlantia and resign my commission.” She falls silent.
“Is that okay?” Lee asks quietly.
He feels her swallow. Then she nods.

Embolalia #4 (mini-series)
Just as Lee hits the send key, there’s a knock at the door.
Kara frowns and goes to answer it.
There on her doorstep is Zak, still looking heart-broken, but less angry than last night. “Can we talk?” he asks.
She glances involuntarily toward Lee, and Zak follows her gaze. Now his brow darkens. “What are you doing here, Lee?” he asks angrily, striding down the stairs.
Lee stands to meet him. “Look Zak, for awhile now we--”
Zak looks back and forth between Kara and his brother. Both of them are apologetic, guilty. He punches Lee in the face.
Flyboy, PG
“Whoa there, flyboy!” Kara springs into action, pushing Zak toward the door. “Go,” she says firmly, and slams it.
Lee’s nose is bleeding and she grabs a towel.
“Thanks,” he murmurs.
Kara looks at him. “You’re not my boyfriend. I’m pregnant, that’s it.”
He opens his mouth, sighs. “I know. It’s just--the moment I met you, Kara, I knew. You’re everything I want, and we could be a family--”
“Lee.” Her eyes are hard. “You should go, too.”
He’s stricken. “I’m sorry about before. Of course I believe you.” Her expression doesn’t falter. “Just...call me.” And then he’s gone.
Academy, PG
There’s no reason to go back to the Academy again, but Kara finds herself there the next morning. She waits outside the flight training center, shifting anxiously, bracing herself for the coming conflict.
When Zak walks out, though, he smiles at her. “Hey.”
Kara shoots him a grin. “So, I’m pretty sure you broke your brother’s nose.”
He shrugs, approaches. “Wanted to break more for a minute, there.”
Her face falls.
“I loved you, Kara. I might never forgive you, but I hope you’re happy.”
He walks away and she blinks back tears. It’s so much more than she deserves.
Cadet, PG
Two days later, Kara wanders around the War College. Students are everywhere, throwing Frisbees or reading in the sun. She’ll get to skip two years here since she completed Academy training, but there are still two to go.
She passes three students loudly debating whether the new features of the new Vipers are worth the expense and Kara grins, ready to jump in, when suddenly her stomach lurches.
She runs for a trash can, expels her breakfast.
As she slinks away on shaky legs, she can’t help wishing she were as carefree as these kids. Or that Lee were here.
Test Pilot Program, PG
Lee opens his door to find Kara, chewing her lip. He opens it wide. Kara follows him inside.
“I’m sorry,” he interrupts before she can speak. “I was so jealous the whole time you were with Zak--but that’s not your fault. I shouldn’t have taken it out on you.”
Kara nods. “I wanted to say...I want you around, Lee.” She sees him relax in relief. “I’m not going to marry you, or change who I am, but we’re going to have a baby. If you want to test out a relationship, I’m in.”
Lee grins. “How does dinner sound?”

Embolalia #5 (mini-series) DONE!
Caprica City, R
Kara wakes with a moan as Lee runs his tongue over her nipple.
“Good morning,” he grins. They’ve been taking the dating slowly over the last month, but they’re just too good at this part to play at chastity.
“Hey, there,” Kara sighs, snuggling into him. He licks at her neck, just like she likes, and she’s suddenly awake, aroused.
“So,” Lee pulls back nervously, “Is it too early to ask you to come to Caprica City with me? While my dad’s here?”
“You mean before my morning orgasm?” Kara teases.
Lee gives her a look.
She grins. “Sounds good.”
Politics, PG
They park, but Lee doesn’t move to get out.
“You okay?” Kara asks.
He looks sideways at her. “My dad...I haven’t told him about resigning. But he’ll be mad.”
Kara shrugs, squeezes his hand. “Just be glad you never met my mom.”
When they get inside, sure enough, Bill Adama rages about his son leaving the Fleet to be a frakking politician. To Lee’s surprise, as long as Kara’s hand’s in his, Bill’s anger doesn’t touch him. And when she claims he’ll be the only honest frakking lawyer ever, Lee thinks he’s never been happier.
Zak, PG
“Zak!” Bill interrupts his tirade to greet his younger son. When Bill releases him, Zak looks warily from Lee to Kara.
“Can we talk?” Lee asks.
Zak nods, follows his brother out. Lee glances at Kara and she winks, assuring him she’ll be fine.
“I’m sorry,” Lee says first.
“That you stole my girlfriend?” There’s humor in Zak’s voice.
“That she likes me better,” Lee tosses off. He grins when Zak laughs. “I am, though. Sorry.”
Zak nods. “Your nose fixed?”
“Gonna break it again?”
In the other room, their father shouts. Kara shouts back. Both brothers run to watch.
Drinking Games, PG
They spend the whole meal switching their wine and water glasses around, trying not to draw attention. But then Bill, who’s been growling but polite since Kara reprimanded him for pressuring his sons, proposes a toast.
“Actually, there’s something Lee and I want to say,” Kara announces. She takes a breath, reaches for Lee’s hand. “We’re having a baby.”
Zak’s face hardens, and he walks out. Kara stands to go after him, but Lee shakes his head, murmurs that he’ll be okay.
It’s Bill Adama who’s most changed: he looks like he might cry. “I’m going to be a grandfather?”
Pyramid, R
That night, laying in bed, Lee traces shapes on Kara’s belly. “You be whatever you want, baby,” he murmurs. Kara runs her fingers through his hair.
“As long as you play pyramid,” she says firmly. “For the Buccaneers.”
Lee looks up at her, concerned. Kara giggles. “Oh, Lee, your face.”
He grabs her, tickles her as she laughs and then rolls on top of her. Kara tugs at his hips, but Lee stills. “I love you, Kara Thrace,” he says.
Kara smiles, shakes her head at how they’ve done this all out of order. “I love you too, Lee Adama.”
