fluffy gropey pilots 1/2

So I was feeling kind of angsty today, even though I wanted to contribute to the DPP, so this may not be super extra all smiling happy, but it is a nice kind of comfortable happy I think...

It's set during the Home episodes, in a slight AU where I don't think Zak exists, because I was feeling lazy, and just wanted some cute pilot times.

Read on...

In the clearing where they had pitched their tents, all was quiet, except for the rain. It had been fourteen hours since they'd landed on Kobol and it had been raining the entire time. When the time had come to set up for the night, Lee had barely seen the point in resurrecting a floor-less tent in a muddy ditch, and so had chosen instead to lay his canopy flat on the ground underneath a large tarpaulin, and settle himself atop it with a blanket and his jacket as a pillow. He was probably just about as comfortable as anyone else was, only slightly less muddy.

They were taking turns doing patrols, three hour shifts. He had gone first, and then Kara. He could hear the muffled sounds of her handing over to Helo from somewhere slightly up the hill from where he lay. He couldn't help but smile at the sound of her voice, he'd missed her more than he'd realised.

Surprise is the next thing he registered as the tent beneath him dipped a little, and a pale, slender hand lifted up his blanket, pulling it over a bit and settling it over both of them as she made herself comfortable pressed against his side.

“Anything happen on your patrol?” He whispered, the harsh rasp of his voice louder than he'd intended in the still quiet of the dark. He craned his head slightly so he could see her, but she lay perfectly still, eyes shut as she replied.

“Not unless you count my freezing my ass off sir, no.” She didn't bother whispering, but she made her concession in the lower quality of her tone, the huskiness it resulted in. She scissored her feet rapidly and tried to burrow her way further into his side, the icy skin of her palm coming in contact with the bared strip of his stomach where his tanks had ridden up.

He jolted at the sudden touch, stomach muscles leaping and rippling from the cold, from her.

“Gods Kara!” He shook out his own legs in an attempt to rid himself of the shivering feeling creeping across his body from their points of contact, but she merely tangled them with her own, throwing her thigh across his and laying her palm flat on his stomach fully underneath his tanks. “Cut it out, you're freezing.”

“I know.” she huffed, her breath the only warm part of her rushing across his chest and all too quickly fading out. “You are supposed to be warming me up.” She insisted, and shivered for good measure.

He rolled his eyes and pulled her a little more tightly too him. They lay there in silence listening to the rain.

Her palms were slowly warming against his skin, and her fingertips were dancing softly along the taut muscles trapped beneath them. Her feet were drawing lazy circles along his ankles and up his shins, and each time she moved them, her thigh muscles contracted, firmed, and pressed up against him in a way that he was certain wasn't accidental.

“Kara.” He breathed, it was meant to be a warning. It sounded more like a prayer.

This theme is so cute! Hee! :)

REC: A little Kara/Lee High School AU fluff always makes me happy. Yay Caprica High! :) These two are my favorites from the series (and also the first and last entries):

Final Cut

[identity profile] embolalia.livejournal.com 2011-05-17 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
For howlinchickhowl's suggestion above! I just rewatched this scene from Final Cut, twice, and the most impressive part is that Kara manages to get 90% dressed and Lee's still hanging out in a towel. I don't know about happy, but there's banter...

***

“Can I be a suspect again? Please?”

Lee laughs. “You know, I wouldn’t have expected threats from you.”

Kara arches an eyebrow. “You don’t think I’m capable of taunting Tigh?”

He drops down to his bunk for a minute, rubbing his towel through his hair and daring her to look down. “Somehow I imagine you slipping something in his drink. Give you a little time to frak with his head while the poison kicked in.”

“Mmm,” she murmurs thoughtfully. “And let everyone else think he just got too drunk one last time.” Kara tilts her head, her eyes widening as something occurs to her. “Nope! You know what I’d do?”

“Shut up!” mutters the pilot whose bunk is over Lee’s.

She winces at Lee. “Oops!” she whispers, and sits down beside him, asks in an exaggerated whisper. “You know what I’d do?”

“What?” He grins in anticipation.

“I’d frak Ellen Tigh.”

Lee chokes on his own breath while Kara smiles brightly at him. At last his coughing gives way to laughter.

“He knows how she is but I’m pretty sure he’d have a heart attack right there.”

There are tears in his eyes as Lee shakes his head. “Well, there’s definitely no poetry in that.”

She stands up again, heading back to her locker for pants. “So that’s a no on being a suspect?” Kara stops, gives him a sultry glance. “Cause you could interrogate me if you wanted.”

Lee stands too, opens his mouth even though he has no idea what to say. Luckily at that moment there’s a commotion in the hall. He turns and rolls his eyes. “Here come Tweedle-dum and Tweedle-dee,” he jokes.

By the time Hot Dog and Kat are calmed down and the reporters are gone, Kara’s ready to eat. “Come on, put your clothes on,” she nags Lee.

He rolls his eyes and pulls on his pants.

Kara perches on the edge of his bunk while he reaches for his tanks. She leans toward him, grinning conspiratorially. “So how would you do it?”
