Six little words

Hi, everyone! Sorry to be late in posting today, but I hope you’re all having a great end of the week. I so enjoyed your wonderful analysis yesterday – I love that kind of discussion. Thanks so much for your thoughtfulness, and for once again proving just how much there is to be found in these wonderful characters.

For today, I was thinking about a little word game that we might play. I was introduced to it in a long-ago DPP, and I think it’s fun:

Write about pilots using sentences of six words. You can write as much or as little as you want. You can write in the form of a poem, a story, or a meta comment, you just have to stick to six words in every sentence. The last time I tried this, I went the poem-ish route:

On Galactica, she found a home.
Soon enough, the worlds ended – typical.
Her almost-brother almost died, too.
That would have sucked beyond belief.
Not that she’d tell him so.

Touching was dangerous, they both knew.
They touched anyway, like casual dares.
They never forgot themselves, their history.

Sam stayed behind; her promise rankled.
Memories always messed up her head.
She found him – let Lee watch.
Should’ve known how that would end.

Lee tried to make her see.
She saw too much, too clear.
So did he; he always had.
It would never work, she decided.
Time to make the safe choice.
She gained wings and lost flight.
Lost Lee, just like she’d planned.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, it sucked beyond belief.
Not that she’d tell him so.
She hit him a lot, instead.
Being Lee, he got the message.

Looking forward to hearing your sextets! :)
