DPP: You are all Cordially Invited to.....

We’ve talked at length about Kara/Lee and everything and anything related to them. So naturally, I was thinking about their BRIGHT, SHINY FUTURE with a porch swing and rugrats.

So, let’s start from the beginning, (well, kinda)

Proposal:

How do you think Lee would propose? Or would it be Kara, because she is Kara?

Would be something like this, a fic where Lee writes on the star charts so when you connect each star location, it spells, “Will you marry me?”

Are there fics out there that has your favorite proposal?

What would they wear during the ceremony? What kind of rings would they wear?

Wedding Vows:

What would be in their wedding vows? What would Kara/Lee say during the ceremony? Would it be the traditional vows, something they wrote, something sweet or something funny?

Wedding Song:

We can all agree that many songs relating to pilots are sad and angsty. So, this is the song that makes them think of each other, their song for their fresh start. What would be their song? What song would their first dance as husband and wife?

Honeymoon:

Where would they go on their honeymoon? If they were Earth 2.0, where would they go? If they were in our timeline, where would they go?

Where would they live?

If in our timeline, would it be in the city, or somewhere more secluded?

What about Earth 2.0? Would they be with other Colonials or on their own?

Feel free to add anything else I’ve missed in this fairy tale!

I wanted an upbeat topic to kick of the weekend. Plus I really wanted to use [livejournal.com profile] sci_fi_shipper‘s lovely wedding photos she created.

I think it would depend on the timing.

Scenario 1, pre-quad of doom: I'd say that Lee would propose. He seems more traditional in that way. (Yes, Kara proposed to Sam, but that was, uh, desperate.) He might try something romantic but she just kinda smiles and says, what are you trying to do, get me to marry you? all joking and Lee looks surprised and chagrined and she starts laughing and then being sweet to him because he's embarrassed. She relents and agrees. Would be total fluff and cuteness. Aww....

They get married by Adama and honeymoon on Cloud Nine. Quiet and simple. Vows would be formal, whatever Adama has to say as head of fleet to marry someone. Kara says a small prayer. When they get back to Galactica, there's a huge party because the pilots are pissed that they ran off to get hitched.

Scenario 2, non-poof after the finale: I think they'd just both think it was a good idea. I kind of picture them doing something like chopping wood and one of them says, "So maybe we should make it official," and the other says, "Yeah." I don't particularly see either one taking the lead. They've both had disastrous marriages at this point and wouldn't be in a rush. They'd just decide. Like that.

I imagine them having a lovely ceremony outdoors with flowers and friends. They'd write the vows themselves and everyone would cry to hear Kara say something soft and loving.

Then they'd have a nice life with friends and family. Lots of hiking, hunting, and frakking. Maybe some kids, but not necessarily. *sighs*

I'll take scenario 2, please. :)

I think in a weird way they needed the QoD to reach the place where they could accept each other.

Yes, that seems more reasonable to me, also. It leads to a maturity that neither had, or necessarily should have had in their mid-twenties. By the time they reach that point, they'd grown up a bit.

Yes, I agree (that's possibly why the QoD storyline never bothered me too much).
