I realized I had more to say than I thought! I made a couple posts that deal with my post-finale process. The first is the commentary (http://shah-of-blah.livejournal.com/28328.html#cutid1) to The Disappearing Ground which goes into a bit more detail than my above comment. But then there's my (fashionably late) Special Destiny Manifesto (http://shah-of-blah.livejournal.com/29552.html#cutid1), in which I detail all the ways the 'destiny' arc failed in the matter of basic coherency.

In short, I don't hate the finale as an episode. I don't even hate the poof. What I hate is that the finale revealed all of the show's gaping holes. The poof did not have to happen because Kara's death and all that was completely unnecessary and nonsensical. That storyline was initially devised purely for shock value, to boost falling ratings. And that is just bad storytelling.
