Because there's no takebacks...

Do you miss pilots? Do you miss their legendary eye-frakking, bantery, bickering and general awesomeness? Do you want to forget Pigeons of Doom, near-fraks on the table and poofings? Your shippy heart needs to be mended after the BSG finale? Or maybe you were satisfied with Kara and Lee’s ending but you are a pilots junkie in desperate need of your K/L fix? If your answer to any of those questions is a loud yes, you’ve found the right place ;)

Welcome to no_takebacks ! This is a re-watching community for the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica series. BUT from a different perspective. And what does make us different?, you may wonder. Well, this is a piloty and shippy rewatch, which means that our main interest from now on will be the lyrically epic, gloriously frakked-up and undeniably hot romance between our favorite hotshot viper pilots, Kara and Lee, Starbuck and Apollo. Needless to say, if you don’t like the pairing that’s definitely not the site you are looking for…

We will be featuring one episode per week including all sort of piloty and shippy stuff. And we want to encourage your participation: thinky meta, thought-provoking discussions, picspams, hair reports and all kind of pilotician goodness will be welcome!

The episode of the week will kickoff with a discussion post on Saturday (for more details, check out our schedule below). And once this post is up all members will be welcome to make episode-related postings throughout the week. We intend the discussion post to be of the meta-ish and “serious” variety, but that will be subject to change depending on our feelings towards the episode––I mean, really, do we need deep thoughts about "Final Cut" and the Apollo-in-a-tiny-towel-while-Kara-is-ogling-his-glorious-ass scene?––I vote, er, no ;). Of course, participation is completely voluntary, but we'd love to have your contribution… So if you simply drop in and comment now and then or post lengthy metas every episode, it’s up to you. The more, the merrier… And anything will be muchly appreciated!!!

Our discussions will begin on July 4th and we provisionally plan to go through the first two seasons. As we are not sure if you will be willing––and psychologically prepared––to cross the line of S3, we have decided to leave this issue for later on... So when the right time comes, we’ll take a poll to discuss this topic. On a personal note, though, I’d love to discuss “Unfinished Business”... It is my all time BSG favorite episode and I can’t conceive pilots without it. But S3 is far away, so let’s see how the rewatch goes...

Dammit. I'm going to miss Water (eh, not really on my favorites), Bastille Day (DAMMIT, I LOVE THAT EP), and AoC (*whispers* I'm not too big a fan of this one either *runs*), so I'll be joining those convo's late. I'm in Europe at that time and will have no access to my DVDs or the internet. D:

As for watching S3? I vote a big fat NO. I refuse to watch Kara/Sam or Lee/Dee or the Quad of Doom or the stupidity of killing off Kara. Although I will miss the last three episodes. Oh well.

I don't know how many I shall actually watch with you guys (because at this point I've seen S1 and S2.0 3 times) but there are definitely favorite episodes I'll rewatch and I will definitely definitely squee with you guys. :)

I LOVE this idea!

I have actually be re-watching S1 as I just introduced the series to my S-I-L. We've already watched up to "Tigh Me Up, Tigh Me Down" (not my fav, but I'll watch anything BSG). I had forgotten (well not really) how much I truly love K/L. It will be so great to discuss the exact moments when you can actually see Apollo realize he's in love with Starbuck (and vice versa).

Yay for watching pilots again! Boo for missing both the mini AND 33, those are among my favorites. I'll miss Water as well, but that isn't as disappointing as the other ones since I didn't like that episode as much.

Cosette the comm is BEAUTIFUL! So shiny and new and gorgeous. Excellent job. I love the pic of Kara leaning against the viper w/ Lee standing over her. I don't know if I've seen that pic before or often...

I doubt I'll put myself through another rewatch so soon after the last one I did at the beginning of this year but I'll be around and hope to participate. Thanks to both of you, Cosette, Bee, for all your organizing and hard work =)

Hello Shippers! I'm ready for the rewatch, I've been BSG-free since 3/20 and it's time to reclaim my show and watch my hot pilots.

I don't know how much I'll offer by way of thinky meta but I'm looking forward to a group watch and going back in time to the episodes that made me a shipper.

Gods, I'm nervous. Ha! That sounds so stupid. I know I said I would but I don't know if I can do it.

I bugged my dad forever to watch the mini. He is very picky with his tastes and we usually don't like the same things but he was a Marine and served on a battleship for a good amount of time. I thought for sure BSG would suit him. But for some reason every time I brought it up to him he would say, "that show from the 70s?" Gah! No dad. It's a new version. I don't know how many times we had that exact same exchange.

So yesterday, he finally watches it....like totally out of the blue. I asked him how he liked it and he said, "It sucks ass." *rolls eyes* He felt it dragged way too much. And now that I think about it the first time I saw the mini I thought it was kinda slow but I had a much more open mind about it. Last time I talk him into watching anything.

Whoa, didn't mean to go on a long rant about it. Sorry. Hee. Thanks for setting up this community. Hopefully I'll be ready come the 4th of July. :)

This has gotten me ridiculously excited. I'm only just discovering BSG but now I definitely need to go out and buy the DVDs. We're usually at least a year behind on TV episodes, so yay for having people to get excited with. Yay! I know you've all watching them before, but still. Thanks for coming up with this idea and setting up the community.

Oh, I think I might hop on the train for the ride, even if I don't rewatch it all on schedule (holidays and all) - just nice to know there's a place where we can come and reminisce on pilots in their glory days... ;)

I don't know if I'll be able to watch the rewatch since I don't have DVDs. I am waiting for the whole show to come out, more goodies that way in the extras. But I will definitely butt in and comment and chat since I really only the remember the piloty stuff from the episodes well.

Hooray! I didn't start watching BSG until I caught the last episode of season 3 (I know, I know...), so I missed being able to discuss a lot of the pilot-y goodness as it happened!

I'm going to miss the miniseries, but I've watched it so many times now that this is probably for the best. :)

I'm exticed for this! but i'm not going to be able to join in till the 5th or 6th becuase my house is being taken over by 50+ 7-12 graders on the 4th. But i'll be sure to join in on the fun! i discovered the show at the mini but i dind't discover the fandom till right after UB so it'll be fun to Squee about the early seasons!

Oh my gosh I was so happy to see this comm up on galactica news. I just finished the series and would love some therapy in a dedicated K/L space ^_^. I'm so happy, I'll be beginning the tv series with you guys!

So...i found bsg late (fall of 2008) and watched the entire series in ~2months, both b/c i fell in love with kara and to be ready for 4.5 in real time. (Considering how 4.5 went for kara and k/l, don't know if that was the best plan, but anyhow...) i lurked on the skiffy forums (esp the k/l shippers thread) as karanymph and generally get my k/l fixes from rewatches of classic k/l epis (UBEX being my favorite), reading fanfic, and floating around youtube (as feline nymph) expanding my k/l vid collection.

i'm super excited to be able to do a k/l rewatch (is there any other kind?) with you guys even though i'm coming into it a bit late.

Thanks for setting up the comm...it's beautiful and a great chance for bonding and post-poof therapy!!
